The Devil transformations at the end stay true to some of the Tekken games where players fight Devil or Ogre. So I'm not surprised by seeing that. Jin andKazuya transforming made sense because that's what they do in the games, but I didn't need Heihachi and his Mokujin spirit. I'm optimistic that one can write a good plot for a movie based on a fighting video game franchise; it's just not this movie, though.
But do you like the Tekken video games at all? I think they're okay--I'm not a huge fan of fighting games in general, except Soul Caliber 3. I'm a sucker for customizable characters. "
Yeah, Shin was an excuse to bring together--Namco was better off with a Tekken tournament plot than this. Apparently the M gene "ran out of juice" and that's why Shin dies. Absurd. I do like the action scenes--the only good thing about the movie. The story is nothing special.
"However, I didn't focus, at least I meant not to give the impression, on if Black Ops or other FPS games depict combat accurately, but in the level of detail put into the design of the environments and then couple them with moments of actual fighting, whether they are accurate to life or not, made me think about how I would fair. Syphon Filter didn't make me think about how I would fair in a gun battle because of the design of the game, the shape and form and movement of the characters, didn't draw me in.
It's the graphics added to the situations that grabbed my attention, and, well, not the situations by themselves."
