No one else this year was able to wreck as much shit as Prototype protagonist Alex Mercer. While Cole McGrath was busy wrestling with the issues of morality and loyalty that came with his powers, Alex was kicking helicopters in the face, literally running up buildings, and throwing tanks at other tanks. He doesn't struggle with whether or not someone should live; the fact that he has all these powers and can't remember how he got them means that, clearly, everyone should die. I won't be the one to argue that Prototype is a better game than inFAMOUS, but it's hard to argue with the fact Mr. Mercer would break both Cole and Nathan Drake in half given the chance.
