PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe was among the first wave of download-exclusive games released alongside the PSP Go last fall. At first glance Deluxe looks like a simple port of the 2008 PSN game PixelJunk Monsters, but this installment features a surprising number of changes. By reducing the number of initially available towers and better integrating the three islands, Deluxe actually offers a new experience to players already familiar with the original. Other additions include a smattering of new towers and enemy types, a “Tiki Hut” based on Trophy Mode from the PS3 version, plus the long overdue ability to play online co-op. Best of all, you don’t need an overpriced PSP Go to play it – any PSP will do.
