The Bitmob Featured Community Writer series focuses on you, the Bitmob community member. We dust off a writer's old articles and give them their just reward: more eyeballs. We're featuring some of your favorite contributors, some you may have overlooked, and maybe even you!

Louis GarciaLouis Garcia has been one of our most prolific community members since he joined Bitmob in August of 2010. Since then, he's shown a talent for interesting interviews and a knack for finding unique stories to share. His perspective as a soccer player and fan has also led to some top-notch work. Who says athletes can't be nerds?

Read on for excerpts from some of Louis' best articles, both from the front page and the Mobfeed. And he hasn't written a Meet the Mob article yet; maybe this will encourage him!

Front-page highlights

Interview with David Gaider: Working for BioWare and the writing process: Here's the first in a three-part interview Louis conducted with Dragon Age writer David Gaider. Make sure to catch the other two sections as well.

Student game development: The story of six college undergrads in England: "Roughly nine months. That's the amount of time it takes for a woman to give birth to another life. For a group of six students, this is how long it takes to develop a video game. In those nine months, the team has come to care for their project, Velisia: A Traitor's Legacy, about as much as a mother and father could for an unborn baby."

We need more options to play as women in sports games: "NHL 12 does something quite unique that sports games don't normally let you do. It allows you to create female pros. This doesn't happen too often, and sometimes it's because the leagues the games are made to represent won't allow it -- but the industry can do better."

Mobfeed highlights

The five video-game enemies I feel bad for smiting, blowing up, or foiling: "Most of the time gamers run through adventures destroying everything in their path without a second of remorse. To be fair, it’s hard to feel bad for the hundred or so faceless enemies you shoot, electrocute, uppercut, or make a fool of with a butt stomp. However, there are some enemies I feel bad to bring to harm."

Review: Dragon Age 2: "Dragon Age 2 is different than Origins, but it’s still damn good. Seeing the story come full circle and evolve in the second game is a treat, and seeing decisions made in Origins and Awakening turn into quests, be mentioned throughout and actually make valuable changes to your Dragon Age 2 experience is an even bigger treat."

Video-game features and power-ups I wish existed in our world: "Sometimes even Commander Shepard gets it wrong. But what if just like when he makes a mistake, we could go back in time and reload a past section of our life? Imagine if we could go through life and make the decisions we feel are the best by being able to test the waters and go back to decide something else."

Besides being a talented writer, that García fellow knows a thing or two about anime, has a great sense of humor, and is a really nice guy. Louis, I salute you!
