Discussion Topic: Old to New Again

On the coat tails of one of Sony's most beloved franchises. This made me start to think why should God of War be the only game remastered. Some game from the PS1 and PS2 ERA should of had trophies with the torment they put us through.

If anyone remembers the library that the PS1 or the PS2 knows there is a lot of games to choose from. With the amount of games one could choose from I think is absurd. So here is where you get to be a Developer fanboy and wish.

The question is a simple one today. What Series would you like to see remastered for the PS3 out side of God of War which is done. Also you can't choose any game in the Final Fantasy series. However I am not limiting this just to Sony as you can choose any series ever made. All I ask if the game is un heard of please provide a link to the game series.

Because I am starting the topic I have two different series I think should be remastered. The first is the Ape Escape series in which was a great distraction. Catching monkeys with a net while trying to solve various puzzles was awesome. My second game series is Shadow Hearts 1-3 and it is from the PS2 ERA. This RPG turn & Time based game was one of the best games I ever played.

Now that I have answered the question it is up to you to answer if you would like.

I'd like to see Chrono Cross remade. Not just a graphical overhaul, but perhaps a "cleaning up" of the plot. And, as blasphemous as it may sound...remove it's connections to Chrono Trigger. As an RPG it's rock solid; as a sequel to CT, not so much. In order to qualify it as a "series", I'd also recommend adding Radical Dreamers, the interactive novel that was a minor download in Japan and was a precursor to Chrono Cross. It's like the Pinkerton of video games; the dev kind of shrugs their shoulders in disinterest while gamers call it out as something great.

This is a tough one, but I guess Suikoden is the obvious choice for me. Pad the quest a little bit(12 hours is a little bit short for my tastes), and give it some Tales of Vesperia style graphics. I would be there day one. Fun Discuss, Toby!

Probably Kingdom Hearts (although thinking about it, it would be more logical on Wii). A lot of games could do well on PS3 actually...SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS! That's the one! It pained me to see it try to run on the PS2, with that framerate.

Good topic, Toby. Hmm, I'm having a hard time thinking of one I would like to see redone. After much deliberation, I would love to see Dark Cloud be redone for PS3. It was a great game (both of them), but it needed a much deeper plot, as well as fixing the combat a little bit. Otherwise, I'd pay money to play those again!

For PC, I'd love to see the Gold Box RPGs in a current style or the X-Wing/TIE Fighter series. For console, it would be Colony Wars.

I would love a bundle of PS2 Ratchet games on a blu-ray with improved graphics and control changes to the earlier games! They could easily get $60 from me for this... even upwards of $80 to $100 is the package was significant enough.
