Fighting game skills fade with age?

I have had this debate on several occasions with many different people.  I have been playing fightng games for I would say close to 20 years, and a few of my friends have stopped playing fighting games fairly recently because of "old fingers".  I disagree with them, I feel that at this point in my life I am on top of my game.  I feel that I am better than I ever have been.  I would like some input from the community on this topic.  I am very curious as to how other people feel.

Hey, fighting games have become more technical over time. The evolution of the Street Fighter series is proof of that, so I think that as we get older (I'm 29), MAYBE we are slow to adapt, but we can better perfect the skills necessary to master the game.

I feel that after all this time just doing the moves is like second nature at this point.  People talk about muscle memory, I mean how many times have you done a dragon punch in  your life.

Personally, I've gotten better over time. Then again, I'm only 22 and played Street Fighter II when I was only six or seven, and I was a button masher at that!

Another big thing is the head games you play in fighting games.  After all these years I have seen it all and done it all.  I don't fall for cheesy traps, and I think I am pretty good at baiting people into things.
