Today is payday and that means I've got room in my budget to purchase a new game.   Uncharted 2 will be finished tonight and I've already fully prepaid for my copy of Ratchet & Clank: A crack in time.  Trouble is I'll need something to tide me over for a couple weeks until it hits.  I eventually plan to get all three but for now I have the tough task of picking one.

What would you recommend over the other two, and briefly explain why?

Thanks in advance - Mike

I would go with Batman. Infamous is great, but it started to wear on me later in the game. Not enough that it made me like the game less, but enough that when the next big thing came out I moved on and never returned to finish the game. Of course, I also spent a ton of time doing all the side missions, so I padded my play time more than other might. Brutal Legend is much more of a game that starts out as a God of War clone, then turns into an open world game with not a lot to do in the world, then turns into an RTS/Action hybrid that doesn't nail either play style... The script is pretty funny, though, and I really like the art style. You might like it more than I did. Batman is one of the most well rounded games I have played in a long time. It gives you a nice number of different ways to play, but still keeps things linear enough that something is always happening. The biggest thing you need to consider is- how big a Batman fan are you? I don't think you will go too wrong no matter which way you decide to go. All three are good games that are worth your money, but since I assume you want to pick this game up in a store this weekend, I would go with Batman and order Infamous off of somewhere like Amazon for less than you would pay in a store. Just my two cents.

Thanks for the input. I'm actually leaning heavily toward InFamous and batman. I just found out a friend of mine has BL so I'll just borrow it when he's done. Works out nicely as he didn't buy Uncharted 2 so we'll do a temporary swap. I almost exclusively do my game shopping on amazon anymore. I just grew increasingly tired of GameStops knack for hiring competent people, and Best Buy's pestering salesmen and endless tack-on offers during the check out process. Plus the lower prices on Amazon and the whole not having to leave the house thing. ;)

I've only played one of those games: Infamous, but I loved it. That would be what I would lean towards.

If you're looking to kill time, Infamous has more to do than your other two options. I liked it a lot, but once I beat it w/ both the good and evil endings there was no reason to play again. Also a plus, it's been out a while so you can probably pick it up on the cheap.

I think Batman is a great game, but if you finished Uncharted 2 already I think Batman will be a little short to get you through a couple weeks. Personally my money is on Borderlands which doesn't come out for another 7 days or so...I have this gnarly hunch about the game. Between Infamous and Brutal Legend.... I would go with Brutal Legend simply because of the writing. Tim Schaffer is a mad man and that game is a partially cracked window that temporarily lets you live in his world. Simply Awesome. Yeah sure Infamous and Batman are probably better games on the whole with a select few but well rounded game mechanics... but I feel like Brutal Legend is on a different level of creativity. Your going to have to play all these games eventually...you know that right?
