Hasn't the age demographic for games remained the same for quite a while (males in their mid 20's)? I think the fact that gamers age does have a bit of influence on the industry and its trends, but our age seems insignificant due to the fact that games are based on action and suspense, and will usually be aimed towards young-adult audiences. Sure, we're going to be enjoying those same types of games well into our golden years, but I think we will fall out of the target demographic as time goes on, rather than it change with us.

Games becoming thoroughly respected, I think, has a lot more to do with the games themselves, the content they provide, and the means in which they provide it, rather than just non-gamers dying off and us taking up the mantle of "old folks". Games are still very juvenile in nature, and their accessibility can still be somewhat unfriendly, and that's a large deterrent for a lot of people, young or old, to adopt video games as readily as they do film.I think game designers and fans alike should stop finding passive excuses for games and why they have yet to reach mainstream popularity, and be real about the fact that games, both literally and in spirit, are very infantile. While that doesn't stop me or any of us from enjoying them, it certainly turns off a lot of people out there, age be damned.

For the record, I did screw up on one of those trivia questions. Angry Birds the board game isn't out yet, so that was a legit answer. I've seen pictures of it, so I wrongly thought it had been released.
