We wonder how Nintendo head honcho Reggie Fils-Aime feels about having a New Super Mario Bros. Wii level editor named after him.

News Blips:

NSMB Level Editor Reggie!

Not one, but two New Super Mario Bros. Wii level editors have been developed by hackers. Tanooki, developed by Virus and Vash, and Reggie!, developed by Treeki, are out but don't mean much to the average consumer considering that they're for computers running Wii emulators. Nevertheless, the world can never have too many impossibly difficult, fan-made Super Mario levels. [Joystiq]

EA to close down Pandemic Studios. The founders of the studio (responsible for the Mercenaries and Star Wars: Battlefront series, among others) and the rest of the staff that was not laid off will become part of EA LA. Furthermore, EA still plans to make new games based on the Pandemic franchises. Pandemic was not listed earlier this month as part of EA's downsizing (eliminating 1,500 positions) which means these are likely additional jobs lost. We wish the best for those who have been affected by these layoffs. [1UP]

Sports Authority has inked a deal to sell the Nintendo Wii and sports/fitness related games in its stores. The company's President, David Campisi, sees this expanding of their market as being about "getting the nation fit." Would you like to preorder any new games with your bench press weight set? The Borderlands soundtrack will be hitting retail and digital downloads stores this December 8th. Missing from the tracklist is Cage the Elephant's "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked," the games opening theme. Nevertheless, the album will come with 27 tracks from Jesper Kyd, Sascha Dikiciyan, Cris Velasco, Raison Varner, and Tim Larkin. What a nice stocking stuffer this would make. [Destructoid]
