EA is using an ASCII picture to promote Dante's Inferno? I think I saw someone type that same image in an AOL chatroom in 1995.
News Blips:

Electronic Arts took a nerdy approach to promoting Dante's Inferno by hiding ASCII art in Digg's source code. A Web address at the bottom of the image directs curious Web surfers to hellisnigh.com, a promotional page for the game. I have to hand it to EA; they learned their lesson from the lame fake protest of Dante's Inferno during E3 2009 and actually doing something clever. [brentcsutoras]
Rock Band developer Harmonix plans to have a playable medley of The Who's songs from the Super Bowl XLIV halftime show. The track should be available immediately after the band's performance for Xbox 360 and Wii owners. The track is "coming soon" for PS3 owners. Now you can live out your own Super Bowl-halftime fantasies from the privacy of your own home -- wardrobe malfunctions are optional.
The Pew Research Center reports that on average, 80 percent of preteens and teens between the ages of 12-17 own or have access to a video game console. Pew's data is based off a telephone survey of 800 young people between June and September. Times are changing, and maybe now our children will be able play games without the stigma that got many of us beat up a generation ago. [1UP]
A Romanian teen allegedly stabbed his adoptive mother to death after she skipped out on paying the Internet bill in an effort to curb his Counter-Strike addiction. The 17-year-old allegedly stabbed the woman 17 times and then proceeded to indulge in his vice at an Internet cafe for four hours before turning himself in to authorities. The youth is currently under psychiatric review and awaiting trial. If he ends up in prison, I'm sure he'll have plenty of games to play with the other inmates. [Flat Line]
The Sims turns 10 today. The original game debuted back on February 4, 2000, and since then the series has gone on to become the best-selling PC franchise in gaming history.
