News Blips:

Left 4 Dead 2 has already sold over 2 million copies at retail. Despite initial concerns that the sequel was releasing too soon after the original (resulting in Valve not supporting the original title, as promised), this sales success, which doesn't even factor in Steam digital copy sales, suggests this is not issue for many consumers. It's too bad some people won't be playing the game until next year. [Kotaku]
A California man has subpoenaed Bill Gates in a suit involving the Xbox 360's Red Ring of Death. In the subpoena, Erik Estavillo requests that Gates produces documents and statistical data pertaining to the actual rates of console malfunctions. Estavillo is notable for having sued Blizzard, Sony, and Nintendo in the past for various reasons. When do you think his reality television show deal will be announced? [1UP]
British tennis star Andy Murray and his girlfriend Kim Sears have separated over his alleged video game obsession. Murray is rumored to play his PlayStation 3 seven hours a day which led Sears to eventually leave him. Oh well, she probably isn't worth the trouble anyways -- he should just get himself one of those online girlfriends. [Telegraph.co.uk]
Marius Fahlbusch, the Technical Director of Nintendo DS hit Scribblenauts, has expressed interest in doing a Wii version of the title. Nothing official has been announced but fans of the series should certainly find this news promising. Hopefully they'll replace the clunky stylus controls with slightly less clunky Wii Remote controls. [OfficialNintendoMagazine]
