Sonic 4 Looks Rad

I’m sure everyone has heard about the new Sonic game, Sonic 4. The recently unveiled images and leaked video of the game may illicit strong memories of nostalgia—be it from the standpoint of an old school Sonic fan and Sega Genesis owner back in the day, or a more douche bag form of nostalgia shared amongst Mario and Super Nintendo elitists due to the Mario games belonging to an admittedly higher quality of stock.

The first video game I ever owned was Sonic 2—it was bundled with the Genesis that my dad bought for me, and I still revisit that game and console to this day. I didn’t even mind the annoying companion Tails, because it gave my sister a chance to give video games a try. All you had to do was plug in a second controller, and anybody, regardless of skill, could have fun flying around and dying in funny ways as that two-tailed freak. After I saw the pics and teaser trailer on a few websites, I felt like a kid again. It was awesome. I haven’t really been excited about a game like this since Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

I’m glad that Team Sonic isn’t in charge of this game, as they have manhandled this series in the worst ways possible, what with the unnecessary roster of characters and game mechanics of late. Let us not discuss that bastard game that saw him to turn into a werehog—Sonic Unleashed was trash.

I don’t think that we need to worry about the new episodic Sonic 4 to suck, because it looks like Dimps, the game’s developer, is really going back to what made Sonic so fun: running really fast.

Dimps taking the lead on this game is really going to be the turning point, as they have put out some entertaining games in the past (not to mention all of the great Sonic games from the GBA/DS). Here's to hoping Sonic can be brought back to glory in a way that justifies my memories of Green Hill Zone.

AGREED! I really dug the GBA titles! This is going to be a return to form for the series, just as Sonic Rush's direction under Dimps was.
