Depending on where you live, Old Man Winter is about to hurricane kick you right square in the nuts. To help offset what will likely be six months of blood-freezing temperatures, and at the same time make gamers look worse than they already might, Capcom is releasing a Street Fighter 4 not-exactly-a-Snuggie Snuggie [via Capcom-Unity]:

The girl in the picture could not look happier about modeling this stylish piece of fleece. It's a good thing your hands are free while wearing the Snuggie -- it will be much easier to defend yourself from friends and family heckling you.

They claim that their "model" doesn't look happy because it was a warm day in LA. Well, that's what they claim, anyway. I can't imagine too many people would seriously be happy about wearing this sort of thing, regardless of temperature.

I don't know, the people in the Snuggie commercials look awfully happy too...maybe they're made out of some joy-giving fabric?

OMG my Halloween costume this year was a Snuggie! It would have been so much better if my Snuggie was nerd themed!!!

While being just another branding, I find this an interesting and comical choice of product placement. What type of person would buy such a thing? The minority surely. So do we bash the marketeers who shamelessly slap popular video game characters and themes on products which have no connection to them, or do we see this as an acknowledgement and appreciation for our beloved media form? I say to you, friends and gamers that we should consider something like this as an acknowledgement and nod towards our once ridiculed culture and perhaps as a sign that we 8-bit heroes and heroins are no longer the minority. In an age where movies are inspired by video games, the power glove reigns supreme!

This is the only thing that would encourage me to wear a snuggie.
