(Ahh, childhood memories. I must have played this game for minutes)
Recently, my mom stopped by and dropped off some boxes filled with things from my childhood (I was hoping they would just stay in one of her closets forever). I sat the box aside for a few days until I finally got around to sorting the stuff. There were some pretty decent finds, a ton of Spider-Man action figures, some containers of (expired) food, high school yearbooks, garbage, pictures, a film camera, and some old books. However, the best part of the whole thing was that I found 3 old Street Fighter games: Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight (as pictured above--I wonder if should worry that this game takes place this year--I really hope Capcom makes a sequel so that I can complain about how they changed the spirit of the original game),
Super Street Fighter II for the Genesis (I really sucked at that game back in the day--My young hands just couldn't understand the fireball motion),
and Street Fighter II Special Champion Edition for the Genesis (I must have played this game for a million hours. I used Guile back then and sucked). I remember having a special controller that I ordered from Capcom, but I didn't see that anywhere in the box. I hope it turns up at some point.
I also found a Capcom Pre-Paid Hint Card (awesome--I wonder if it still works and if people remember having to call hint lines to get tips for games), GamePro's Fighting Frenzy: Volume II with the complete move list for Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Marvel Super Heroes (one of my favorites), and Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge (these hint guides got a lot of use before GameFAQs showed up), and two board games: Marvel Super Heroes: El Juego (I don't speak Spanish), and Public Assistance: Why bother working when you can play this GREAT WELFARE GAME? (probably the most racist game ever made). The rest of the stuff I don't really care about, so I'll probably donate it to a kid who wants some Spider-Man toys. If he or she can beat me at Public Assistance.
