Video Game Writing Prompts?

Embarrassingly, I've avowed to write once a week as a New Year's resolution right here on BitMob.com in order to grow as a writer and to explore many of the issues that surround our most beloved industry -- and I have not been able to live up to that very promise. Just because the chips are down, and I can't think of another cliché, that doesn't mean I'm willing to give up!
It may have been that I've invalidated [and later scrapped] nearly every countless topic I've written up in Word Document, or may feel that I've already answered many of the curiousities I've had as gamer. Either way, I'm coming out of the closet -- this has gone on for far too long! I need some ideas!
For nearly every night leading up until now, I've been contemplating about some potential prompts: Vying for Your Time, Daunted by a New Set of Controls, Satisfaction in Games, Are Video Games Art?, What Makes FPSes so Replayable?, even insofar as to write about what makes for a "great" gaming prompt. In terms of making a "great" gaming prompt, I've ironically had no such luck.

So please BitMob community, I beg of you, bounce ideas off of this tired mind and I'll show you! I'll show all of you, just wait and see!

So you're looking for ideas to turn into pieces?

More or less, yes.

Well, I can't speak for everybody, but I have a hard enough time coming up with my own ideas for original content. I can't give you any ideas, per se, just guidance. Everything has more or less been done. Find a unique angle on a topic and cover that. Look at it from different points of view, how it affects different people.

I have an idea for you, "The Trials and Tribulations of a Game Designer." Anyone can become a designer in terms of video games, but so far nothing has gone into depth of how a game designer gets his title, or the trials and tribulations they go through. In example: I am still looking for work even though I got my degree in game design :(

@Zaki, Game Developer Magazine and Gamasutra both cover that topic, if you're personally looking for information. I find good stuff there all the time.

Prompt: What if Shgieru Miyamoto never created Mario? Where would games be today? GO!! Or I suppose you could do an easy topic like things that are wrong with games journalism... like we haven't heard that before...

A prompt: How can gaming culture mature to where it no longer feels the need to defend it's own legitimacy?
