The Battlefield Bad Company 2 Multiplayer beta has been out for a while on Xbox 360 and PC, and it was just released recently on PS3. I for one have been playing tons of it, and I've been loving it so far. It got me thinking, though, is it as good as the current multiplayer game in my life?
BFBC2 vs. BFBC
Well, it's obvious that Bad Company 2 is a step-up from the original Bad Company, but I held the original's multiplayer very true to my heart, and I love it.
For one, the aiming feels significantly different in comparison, with the sequel getting a Call of Duty-style aiming revamp. Aiming got a lot more realistic now. Personally, I preferred the original Bad Company's aiming system, it was easy for anyone to learn, and it didn't have that aim deficiency for running and gunning. I liked that it's what set Bad Company and Modern Warfare apart. Now although the aiming took a turn for the worse (but it's worth getting used to), there are many other changes to Bad Company 2 that I welcome with open arms.
The audio system is absolutely mind-blowing, and it's a great combination with the crisp visuals. The sounds of bullets in the distance and bullets that whizz by your ear are very contrasting. From snow-crunching to falling trees, each sound is very realistic, and the attention to detail in quality and distance is fantastic.

In the original Bad Company, I found it extremely easy for me to destroy the Gold Rush gametype crates, and the whole gametype was unbalanced. The usual case was that if you were on the defending team for the Gold crates, you were going to lose. Now, it's a lot more of a challenge for Attackers to win, and that's a great balance change, for once. One of the prominent factors that affected the balance came from great map design and placement of the objective Gold crates.
I also must applaud the great netcode for the Beta servers in BC2, because I have been playing for quite a while, and I rarely hit any laggy matches, even when I was downloading files in the background, or other had other computers using bandwidth at the same time.

All in all, BC2 is a more balanced Bad Company, with better visuals and sound.
Additional Notes
Although I mentioned that Bad Company 2 was overall more balanced, I can't stress how badly the vehicles can come in and dominate. I suppose it's more realistic that way, but the turning of the tables can happen all too quickly with just a few tanks.
I love the new items in each classes' inventory. Health pack drops, ammo drops, and motion mines aka proximity grenades (my personal favorite). They're all really good and help balance out each class.
Even though the Battlefield Bad Company 2 Multiplayer Beta is a mouthful, it also only gives you one map, gametype and 12 weapons to play with. Although we're given very little, it seems like a lot, and Bad Company 2 is shaping up to be something really awesome.
