Why Sony didn’t have much choice when making their move:

GDC 2010 has come and gone, and left us with things to dread and to be excited for this year.  One thing that a lot of people don’t seem to be excited for is the PlayStation Move.  The general consensus is that it is another Wii, and if you were to look at comparison photos you might understand the consensus.

The question I would like to ask is... How might they of done their design different, while using the technology they have chosen? If you get the facts about the move there is a pretty big difference in the tech.  It does capture motion better,  but it isn’t bringing any new ways to use motion control let alone something to look forward to in terms of games that utilize the Move in a different way than Nintendo with their Wii’s.

BitMob said it best on their most recent podcast; Sony isn’t taking advantage of the market. More that they are just trying to get a piece of the action that Nintendo has. Over and over I’ve heard that seeing the “Move” has been a disappointment, and that seeing what it is makes makes most excited for XBOX’S “Natall”.  That in it’s self sounds like the worst thing Sony could have hoped for with this reveal.

No matter what happens in the end of all this, I’m happy to see everyone Move forward.

The tech demo for it last year was pretty cool.
