The game is Word Challenge, and it can be found on Facebook.com from the developer Playfish. In Word Challenge you are presented with a set of 6 letters that you must arrange and rearrange to make as many words as you can. Since when did spelling become fun? Ever since it was given a social aspect.
There are a few features to this game that incorporate your friends. The first is the bonus round when spelling words. Every set of letters has a round that is activated from spelling a word that uses all the letters given. The bonus round challenges you to un-jumble letters to spell one of your friends names. This was fun for me, but I only have a few friends on Facebook, while most people have hundreds. I can see how this bonus mode could quickly fall apart.
One major plus to this game is the fact that it has what in my opinion makes or breaks a social game, a leader board. You can compare yourself, and your friends, top hundred people who have played the game that week.
And, well, that is about all there is to this game. A few more features would have been nice, but what are ya gona do? Oh, wait, the game does have more modes of play. But they are locked unless I buy the ‘Pro’ version of the game. With out forking over the cash for Pro I miss out on a practice mode, a game type similar to a word search, and a harder difficulty. I’m ok with exclusive items requiring real money, but when half your game is unplayable? That is unacceptable.
I don’t generally like scoring a game unless I can do it in a cute and clever way, so I give the part of this game that is playable 4 out of 6 letter tiles. However, I give the game as a whole 2 out of 6 letter tiles. Why? Because I can’t fucking play it! Still though, give the game a try, but please, even if you like the game don't buy pro, it's the principal of the thing.
