I'm not crazy about open-world games. I stop playing most of them well before I ever finish. The one game I got much further in was Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, but even then I gave up halfway through it. There are just too many things to do, and too many ways for me to get distracted from the main story.

When SD people drummed up some outrage at the unreadable text in Dead Rising, the game industry as a whole should have clued into the fact that SD gamers still exist.

As I have mentioned numerous times in my writing, I'm pretty far behind with the video game world. I need to catch up on the classic franchises I've completely missed out on and play through the landmark titles that I've yet to touch. Feel free to read along as I do. This time, I'll be covering Metroid: Zero Mission, Portal, and Flower.

I don't know, random thoughts I suppose? Why I want to write about video games. Lance made me think about it with the next community show theme, so I wrote them down.

When a loyal video game enthusiast has a child, one of the first things they think about -- apart from all of that parenting stuff -- is how they will introduce their kids to video games. Making a mistake and turning off to games forever is any gaming parents nightmare scenario.

Rather than go through the whole rigmarole of a prediction post, I figured I would highlight the news we are sure to not see coming out of this year's Expo. Feel free to add your own in the comments.

he Electronic Entertainment Exposition approaches, and we here at The Game Inquisitor had to take the opportunity to make up a bunch of random shit that we think is going to happen so that we'll get a bunch of hits! Isn't that what all video game sites do right before E3? Also, an interview with Gex, and a Comics section to accompany the ads!

Congratulations! You're reading the first ever issue of The Game Inquisitor, which means you want more truth in your game journalism. Tired of being lied to? Of course you are. When Nintendo released Wii Music, we were the only outlet to (correctly) report that Miyamoto's pact with the devil had expired and he was forced to rely on his own ideas.

Sadly, we've reached the final day of the Bitmob/1UP Field Week. It's been a fun ride. It took some effort, but with the help of Cody Winn, Andrew Hiscock, the rest of the Bitmob staff, and all of the Bitmob and 1UP community members, we pulled it off.

If you're unfamiliar with us, we rescue poor gamers with pile's of shame that could rival the heights of Mount Everest. We swoop in and create a "time bubble" around a group of players. Suddenly, that old game seems new again, and a whole group of gamers is playing along with you and talking about it like it had just come out that week.

Remember field day back in elementary school? Sometime in the spring, toward the end of the school year, all of the schools would get together and play a bunch of games. The Bitmob/1UP Field Week is the same idea, only the schools are websites, and the games are blog-like activities.

For the second ever BBB, we tackled the hyper-violent, Wii-exclusive Madworld. Seven gamers stepped in, and as of this writing only two stepped out victorious. Still, after I plowed my way through to the end, I helped coach Brian Shirk through the place he was having trouble with, which got him to the finish line as well.
