"Agreed. Case in point 'Scary Girl' on XBLA (Maybe PSN??) has co-op play, but only the first account gets any achievements. But then that's a trap even the Lego games suffer from to some extent. If people have co-op play they really should make achievments shared. One of those cases were these things can actually detract from an otherwise fun game."

"I find XBLA/PSN to be the home of local multiplayer now. As a male gaming with the fortune to have a gaming wife we seekout co-operative games on these services to fill in the gaps left by the retail releases that cater for it which are, as you state, few and far between. But we've ploughed hours into the likes of Lara Croft Gaurdian of Light and Undergarder and many other titles which other gamers might not get as much job from, but which for us become treasured gems.
So I think the experiance is still out there for those willing to look, and though picking are slimer than they were, they make the fruit you do find all the sweeter."

"The phrase 'I'll wait for a Steam Sale' is something I hear more often than not these days. And certainly I've found myself holding off on a purchase and waiting for the price to hit rock bottom. Not becuase I think the game isn't worth the initial valuation, but just becuase of the certainty of it. Knowing you will be able to pick a game up at a vastly reduced price at some point in the none too distant future is a very tempting things. Espeically given we all have quite vast 'piles of shame' due to the ever increasing release cycles. It's easy to ignore new releases these days more than ever.
I think the issue might be that it seems to be an all or nothing with Steam, you are eaither paying pretty much RRP (quite often above what you would pay for the game elsewhere) or you are paying next to nothing. Could they not do 20% off Pre-orders. or 10% off all FPS games. Things which still give you value for money without practically giving the games away? Save the massive sales for maybe once a year on older games where the day to day sales have dropped off and the only way to get interest back into them is by reducing them to impulse buys."

"There is one area were all that additional processing power and memory a new system would bring could be put to good use that consoles really could use it. AI. Smart enemies are not all that common yet and they would certainly bring better gameplay to our games."

"I quite like the term 'NextBox' when talking about the box formally known as the XBOX 720. Of course there might be some IP infringment with the old NeXT stuff."

"I only just picked up Mass Effect 2 in the Steam sale, ready to continue my journey through the universe. If ME3 doesn;t come to Steam there is every chance I won't play it. Yes I'm that stuborn guy who only buys games from Steam or GOG, I don't mind branching out when there is no DRM involved. I just don't trust Origin to be around for as long as Steam will. Hopefully that GotY version possibility will come to pass. "

"I guess the problem with a game like Fable is that the fun of playing is largely based on the humor, and if the humor is not in a style you like it's going to get boring, fast. Thankfully I got one with that side of the game, and having played previous installments knew that money was best made from property so started empire building as soon as I could, thus by the time I got to being King as was already raking in cash. This made the 5 days of events just something I had to get through as the money was already there. In my experience then the game was broken by the fact that making money was so easy that I never had a hard decision to make I knew I could save everyone. I would have prefered to face the prospect of not being able to raise all the money and deciding who/what to save and what to sacrifice, that would have been a very interesting end game indeed."
