Disappointed with Nintendo in some recent decisions? Blame Nintendo of America. They'd just rather circle the drain until WiiU is released.

With the reviews hammering Metroid: Other M for its cutscenes, plot, and voice acting, this article looks why it shouldn't have been an issue and how nitpicking critics can harm future games.

A rambling, coherent collection of data acquired from attending E3 2010. This will show off the good, the bad, and the next step from making something better for next year.

"I dunno. This reads like you got 10 hours in and quit because your 10 hours seemed different than mine. In those 10 hours, I explored everything that I could and that's beauty of Xenoblade Chronicles when it comes to exploration: there is no off-limits at anytime and it rewards you for always going off the beaten path. I also liked it didn't tell you how much XP you needed because the game just spits out XP. Secret area? XP. Get an achievement? XP Level up your arts? XP. Seeing how much XP you needed in past RPGs just turned those games into grindfest. That kind of repetition can be ruin the pacing and drive of any game.

And I also don't know what parts of the game you were looking at because I still fidn the game beautiful. Just get to Makna Forest and position the camera in places where you can see the other god locked in combat with the god you're traveling on: you can find some breathtaking vistas.

The game is huge and sprawling, yet it never feels like trudgery. You'll never linger in one place for too long and the game won't force you to the next plot point for the sake of advancement. And the plot....morphs into something bigger and better than revenge.

I'm not trying to take away your disappointing Isaac, but Xenoblade Chronicles just did too many things right for me to ever had any kind of problem with it. It's definitely my game of the year and definitely my favorite Wii game (which was a huge list to chose from"

"They also have them at Nintendo's site. The interviews about the soundtrack are very illuminating to say the least."

"I'm actually happy that this game is on US shores. They probably made it exclusive at Gamestop just in case demand was low and no one picked it up.

I don;t know how good the game is: I can't get past the title screen and its amazing score.

Jonathan, have you read the Iwata Asks interviews for this game. They say more in the interviews than any ad can. I think Nintendo promoted it online, which makes sense because that's where the majority of support for this game came from."

"I can't say I'm betrayed or abandoned at all either. In fact, I loved what the Wii offered in the 5 years since I've had one and while my PS3 got more play in 2011, doesn't invalidate that I enjoyed the Wii lineup. I think with this generation has had more variety and content to explore on all avenues and it's silly to still want every game to provide the same style of content. And even to this day, I would want the same kind of games that provides hours of gameplay than a 60 dollar C-level movie. Or in Catherine's case, B+"

"The final, final star in Galaxy 2 was Nintendo's EAD reaction to all the hacked levels they've seen online and decided to really challenge the hardcore Mario players. No checkpoints, no hit points, no coins-just the ultimate test in 3D platforming. You'd wish it was easy as Galaxy 1."

"I put a lot of stock in Edge's reviews because they write reviews that takes a critical look at the gameplay mechanics and design of each game. Considering what's on that list of 10s and based on the review I read, Nintendo is gonna be forgiven for the drought of decent Wii with Skyward Sword. I wasn't excited for Skyward Sword until I read that review."

"@Ed-'We do not want to be playing the newest shooter while having to worry about tapping a screen to shoot or move.' Are shooters the only definition of hardcore? Has Nintendo truly suffered not having the same exact shooters that can be found on the PS3/Xbox 360?"

"I'm just trying to figure out how a home console that's near 90 million sold worldwide and has software that doesnt disappear from charts after a month is losing or needs to win something."

"It also assumes that people who love Nintendo franchises also don't have multple consoles. This longer hardware cycle has allowed people to save up and potentially own more than one system. And if that's the case, the games you can't play on the Wii, and based on sales charts, it's a bunch of first person shooters and open world titles, they can find those games on those systems and be content.

Would any 360/PS3 owner rebuy Red Dead just to say they play it on a new console if they content of the game doesn't change at al"

"And another problem about software sales as a sticking point is that the hardcore franchises don't sale as well. Using VGChartz info, the 'hardcore' franchise sales on the Wii is right in line with what a hardcore franchise or title would say on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, no better or worse. (that's only if you don't combine total sales for a console.)

It's unfair to assume that only people who like games like Just Dance 2, Wii Play, Wii Sports, Wii Party will never pick up a hardcore game. Every game and genre has their audience and they will flock to a new title if it interest the"

"Hi! After working in a customer support, I've dealt with customers who have been unsatisfied with some stuff they download. When they call for refunds, they become even more upset because we can't refund their money or points. Neither does the console or hardware maker. Unless you can probably the money or points were lost in complete screwy way, you're stuck with a downloaded game or asset.

You can trade in, gift, or resell any game. That's a major plus for customers who may not be tech savvy on using online stores. All you can do with a download is just delete it. A retail copy can always work on the hardware. So I have practical reasons for not wanting Apple stuff.

Plus I love box art and manuals."
