A difficult decision: to buy Modern Warfare 2, or to ignore it?
2guys_1title
The Call of Duty series started out on the PC, so the greatest stroke of irony is that Modern Warfare 2 will mark the end of Infinity Ward's respect for the community that propelled it to prominence.

Shadow Complex is clearly inspired by games like Super Metroid and Castlevania, but it also innovates fundamentally on this subgenre in ways that simply can't be ignored in future iterations of these traditional franchises.

"I don't really see how any of this relates to being an adult. Sure, Dark Souls (and Demon's Souls) asks you for patience, focus, and resolve, but none of those are contingent to being an adult. I understand that "adult" is a semantic shorthand for some of these things, but it also suggests that people who aren't necessarily interested in these things are something less than adult. Some people come to video games for a decidedly less stressful, invested experience."

"I appreciate some of the ideas in this article, but I can't help but take issue with the title. A game that doesn't allow you to pause is not a game for adults."

"The lack of a mention of Cheap Ass Gamer greatly reduces the value of this article, as far as I'm concerned.  If you're a budget concious gamer and buy games online, that's where you need to be.  Period."

"@Suriel:  You may have been hoping to see Irrational's next game, but are you really surprised that it didn't show?  I thought it was made fairly clear by their website redesign and podcast that they want to control their message, much like bigger companies that have more direct feedback with their users (Blizzard is a prime example).

I was personally most surprised that Insomniac didn't show any games, as their game would seemingly be coming down the pipe fairly soon.  The obvious pick would be Resistance 3, but they didn't even show a new Ratchet game or other original title."

"I'll probably be playing tonight, so I'll toss my gamertag in.

"I want to side with Aaron for the simple fact that Raychul never seems to concede any point she makes.  Podcasting is supposed to be about conversation (not grandstanding) and when one person is unshakable on all of their opinions, it's not really conducive to a great podcast.

Just my two cents."

"One of the best episodes in a while, for sure.  Here's my contest entry:

"ove at the speed the game takes me. Mass Effect 2 didn't let me stop when I started playing it. The game certainly didn't have the best pacing in the world, but the pacing seemed to be complementary to my preferred style - main quest event, several loyalty missions, mining, main quest event, rinse, repeat. I think the game did something right when I stayed up until 4 AM to play a video game for the first time in"

"me a month ago, I'd probably say Half-Life 2. Ask me now, I'll certainly tell you Mass Effect 2. One of my favorite parts about gaming is that the interactive media can take the cinematic qualities of film and give you the ability to further explore the environment as your own director. Half-Life 2 exemplified that, due to the highly scripted experience but ability to craft your own path and pace through the its world. Mass Effect 2 takes that one step further, allowing you to clearly define the star of the show, choose where you want him or her to go, and still get a great story regardless of your level of investment. Not only does cinema add a lot to games, but it acts as a bridge between the passive media of film and the interactive media of games. If more people could recognize the storytelling potential of games, I feel like everyone would want to be a"

"ually, Kevin, the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad will all be running iPhone OS 3.2 or better at the time of release. I wouldn't really say that a version numbered update is a "slightly modified operating system". Furthermore, it's been explicitly detailed that apps can either be developed for the resolution of the iPhone/iPod Touch or at the iPad resolution. So no, not "all of the games are games that would run on an iPod Touch/iPhone", as soon as developers start making games/apps for the higher resolution. Admittedly, it'll probably take a lot for devs to transition to the greater screen size, but specialized apps are sure to pop up that take full advantage of the screen real estate and discard those unsightly jaggies. Finally, you're undeniably wrong about the following statement: "the iPad is... a tablet computer too weak to do much other than what the iPod Touch could", considering the processor is significantly more powerful than the one in the iPod Touch 3rd gen/iPhone 3GS. The Apple A4 chip is one of the most technologically interesting aspects of the new tablet, considering it's a proprietary chip that'll allow Apple to break off part of the supply line, cut costs, and have a more clean experience. People are even theorizing that the next model of the iPhone is going to use a downclocked A4, meaning that there'd be a noticeable difference between previous gen iPhones and the new, A4-packed iPhone/iPad. This opens up possibilities for firmware updates with features like multitasking, which Apple hasn't really considered b"
