"I see what you're saying. It doesn't bother me though. I've loved games where a cinematic takes place then transitions back to my control. I go all the way back to Resident Evil. I'm accustomed to it and it's what I expect. This must be the reason why I don't think much of it."

"Uncharted 3 is a great game to me. It is great in that it allows me to feel like I'm in Nate's shoes. I want to be the character traveling around the world experiencing the outrageous adventures. It's like a getaway from our normal everyday life.
It's entertainment. Games like Uncharted 3 provides me the opportunity to just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. It's just plain old fun and games. And there's nothing bad about that at all."

"Uncharted 3 is a good game. I had fun playing it. It kept me entertained for the 10 hours or so that I put into it (story mode-wise). I enjoyed it because I knew what to expect going in. I loved the two previous installments and I had faith that the third would not disappoint. It had the elements that I sought for in a game like this: great story-telling, amazing graphics, simple and fun gameplay, and lovable characters. Yes, it is like the Indy films, just with a Michael Bay flare added to it. This is a game that you are more "along for the ride" for than for an innovative gameplay experience. It's a grab the popcorn and enjoy the show kinda game. "

"Nathan Drake is a great character. He is someone a lot of gamers can relate to. As mentioned above, he doesn't have the super-hero powers and invicibility that a majority of the characters have today. The way he acts, the things he does, and the stuff that comes out of his mouth are what most of us would probably be expressing as well in those dire situations. And he jokes about it too, which is a great way to deal with the extreme circumstances happening. He is a character that many of us can associate with and not think too far-fetched of."

"s good to know that there are game designers who still cherish the ideas of the past. The gameplay elements back then were simple to understand, but still challenging. These is what made those classic games so much fun to play. I'm eager to give Shadow Complex a try to experience the good times that the games of yesterday bro"

I played the next two installments and enjoyed both of them as well. I even got to experience Code: Veronica on the Sega Dreamcast and I loved that one as well. They were all great games in their standard, but at times, unique way. They all provided the scare factor that I yearned for.
Then Resident Evil 4 was released and things changed. It was not a bad change though. The game switched over to be more action-like and the idea worked. Gamers (including myself) responded well to the new style of gameplay and the producers were rewarded with critical acclaim and financial success.
But something was missing for me. I wasn’t scared playing RE4. I did not experience the similar frightful moments like I did in the previous games. I was too occupied shooting my way towards the goal of discovering what the hell was going on. And you know what? I was having a blast doing it too. I wished there were more freak me out moments within the game though. I think I would have enjoyed it even more.
I was hoping that Resident Evil 5 would bring back the tension that was present in the earlier games, but it didn’t turn out that way. RE5 was a straight up action title. It was a good game, but I didn’t enjoy it as much. My brother and I played co-op together and while he was running and gunning, I was more blah. I lost interest and then I DIED.
I think Resident Evil 6 (or whatever it gets called) should return to the roots of the franchise. Incorporate all that has been learned in developing the games, but please oh please, lets get some scare factor in there. Hell, lets go back to the mansion. I liked it there, so lock me up and throw away the keys why don’t you."
