"me, there seems to be this pervasive idea in the gaming media, that THEY are video games. That video games would be nothing without them, and that gamers wouldn't know what to do without them. A lot of times this shows in articles explaining how to make a franchise better, or how this game system can do things RIGHT in the future. This all really shows up in there writing, or lack there of. The gaming media, quite frankly, is a group of over glorified bloggers that are working on sites that a large corporation now owns. The writing from these outlets tends to be over opinionated, which is not necessarily a bad thing, without looking at both sides of the equation, which can be a very bad thing. They are a group of people that get mad when people disagree with them, mostly complaining how their readership complains on message boards, but turns around and gets mad when a gaming company doesn't do what they want them to do. I really think this is an important time for the gaming media. If it wants to be credible, then things need to change, otherwise I don't know that it will be a"

"hink the problems is that the 3rd party companies don't want to have to do what it takes to make something work on the Wii. They want the benefits of what Nintendo has created but they don't want to do what Nintendo has done. Take EA. Why is it that EA NEVER creates TV advertising for their Wii games, yet complain about how they can't make sales with said games? Look at Madden. It's never made sense to me why EA doesn't make more of their advertising about the Wii version of the game. EA should know their guaranteed 2-4 million in sales through the PS360 version, so why spend so much on ads for that game? Why not spread the word about the Wii version and try to get people who own a Wii and like football to understand that the Wii version is for them. Instead they push the PS360 version, and never advertise the Wii version, then complain about sales. They did the same thing for Dead Space: Extraction. The truth of the matter is the days of throwing up a banner on a video game website and then putting out some trailers on the internet are gone. There is no correlation between internet hype and sales. In fact it's possible there might even be a bit of an inverse relationship there. I own a Wii and PS3, and I like both systems, and I've got plenty of games for both systems, and can tell you that a lot of the goo 3rd party Wii titles are just as good as the 3rd party PS3 ones. Muramasa, No More Heroes, Zack and Wiki, Mad World, Deadly Creatures, and the such are quite frankly just as good as Prince of Persia, Fallout (yes I said it) Dragon Age, Call of Duty, and so on. The problem is, in my opinion, the 3rd parties have to quit thinking they can just throw a game on the Wii and let the large install base do the"

"later then my mid twenties, and I got my start with the atari 2600 and have played games through the current generation. And to be honest, I think this is all on you. I think the truth is that you've decided that the Wii isn't for you cause, it's not "hardcore". It makes no sense to me that you revel in the greatness of 2d, yet admit that you " fell in love with Xbox exclusives like Halo, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Ninja Gaiden" which are nothing but 3d games. Now I do respect the fact that if you don't want to play Wii games, then you shouldn't. However, I feel, and this is just my opinion, that the problem is that people aren't WILLING to TRY what's available on the Wii. There are good games on the system, you just have to be willing to try something that might not fit what you think is going to be okay. Zack and Wiki (dumb name, great game), No More Heroes, Mad World, Mario Galaxy, Zelda TP, Smash Bros, Mario Kart, House of the Dead: Overkill, Dead Space Extraction, The Conduit, Mario Strikers Charged, De Blob, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Pro Evo Soccer, Metroid Prime Trilogy. There's a LOT of good games out there, you just have to get over your prejudices and get over the idea that games are more then graphics, and controls are more then just analogue sticks and D-pads. Now all that said, I do respect your opinion, and think you wrote a good"

"know, this is the FACTS about the WII. Whenever people quite acting stupid and look at the system for more then just graphics, they see the light. There are some REALLY good games for the WII, just as many as for the other consoles. Yes, there are good games on the PS360, but this idiotic notion, and that's what it is, that the WII is for babies, soccer moms and grandmas is stupid. When people put their stupid prejudices aside and look at the games for what they are, they'll find a LOT of good games. Here's some more great games for the WII- Dead Space: Extraction, Deadly Creatures, Mad World, Wii Sports Resort, Little King's Story, House of the Dead: Overkill, The Conduit, Lost WInds: Winter of Melodias, Excite Bike World Rally. (All these games came out in 2009) It's time for people to quit bitching about the WII and take a look at the quality games that are on the s"
