On Rus McLaughlin's  Why is Valve giving Portal 2 away for free?
"I'm sad that the Xbox didn't get the connectivity with Steam/Portal 2, though mainly because the only ones of my friends who have Portal 2 have it on their PC.  I highly doubt Microsoft will give up on Games for Windows, but connecting with Steam for multiplayer would be a great idea.

Anyway, the only way I'd have played Portal 2 on my Mac is if I got a free copy with my 360 version, so that would have been a good idea and is one for PS3/Steam."

On Jeffrey Sandlin's  The five worst excuses for leaving out a female character option
"I do often play as a woman in a video game if I can, and for a couple of reasons.  One, I've I'm going to be looking at the back of a character for  hours on end, I should at least have something I'd like to look at.  The other thing is to annoy others.  There are WAY too many players that are high strung enough to be annoyed by this to not to.  I have a pink lady Spartan in Halo Reach and I'm surprised at the reactions I get.  Its funny.  That and they got rid of the option to play as an Elite in every match, so this was the next best thing.  

But yeah, this should be a no brainer now.

Oh, also remember the excuse for New Super Mario Bros. Wii?  Peach's skirt was too hard to animate.  That's just sad."

On Kris Pigna's  Dragon Age 2 fails to consider standard-definition TV owners
"I agree completely with this.  While I have not played Dragon Age II, (nor intend to, but that's another matter,) issues like text and genereal breaking of games annoys me to no end.  No one in my house as of yet owns an HDTV, nor do my parents intend to buy one till our 60" SD projection screen breaths its last.  The ONLY reason I'm considering buying an HDTV for my rooms is because I can not read the text on my games from my couch 5 feet away from my 19" HDTV. 

This really should be something that they should consider at least for the rest of this generation.  Heck, offer a bigger text option or something like many movies offer."

On Michael Edwards'  Gaming Content on TV Doesn't Work
"@Rob - Yeah, the original content would work SO much better if they had anyone with any actual talent.  Sessler's okay, but everyone else isn't fit for third tier web content.  I was sad that they didn't keep Seanbaby on Attack of the Show, he's actually funny.

As to Tosh, I think he's better because he can actually emote.  Sure its the full range of "snarky douchebag," but its still better than Web Soup's "Oh God what are these words on the teleprompter!?""

On Ross Adams'  Style before gameplay?
"Frankly, I'm glad we're getting away from the "Real is Brown."  If it takes some Okay games with great style to show the tripple-A titles that we like odd cameras and cel shading, they might try for something different.  Heck, art style does do a lot for me in the enjoyment of the game.  Also a great game, Okami has some terriffic visuals."

"@Rob - I heard that Sony patented a technology that could do that about 5 years ago.  I have a feeling they haven't yet due to the backlash they could, (and probably would,) recieve.

 

I know Ubisoft sells games directly from their site, so if they wanted all the money they should empahsize this.  Cut out all the middle men.  Though they should have to reduce the price since there is no middle man.  I would be FAR more inclined to buy from them as opposed to Walmart.com or Amazon if it was cheaper."

On Rus McLaughlin's  Fixing Halo Waypoint
"Something that would make it much better for me at least is boosting movie load speeds and reduce buffering.  I tried to watch Halo Update (or whatever its called) and it buffered every 30 seconds and was unwatchable.  I can go right to Red vs Blue on my computer and stream flawlessly. 

Also, the red they added doesn't match with the rest of the blue/gray theme at all. 

It could be so much better"
