"s anyone remember Gphoria, a real awards show that was taken down by the buyout of G4 by comcast. One of the Comcast execs sons was a large contributor to the Spike VGAs which at first had porn stars announcing winners and forced the closure of Gphoria which was one of the best video game award shows that was ever organized and televised. They closed it down claiming costs and ratings but yet all the gaming magazines and main stream media toughed the show a successes for a growing industry which has surpassed Hollywood in it's worth. Funny though they didn't need to invite the celebrities, they just showed up to Gphoria. In the VGAs games that did not belong anywhere near a winners circle won awards, just look at the history of winners and you will see how horrible some of them turned out. The VGAs are a poor example and should not be called a Vidoe Game Award show. In addition the Corprate nepotism perfumed by the now owner of the network should be ashamed for their obvious corrupt actions. I mean come on they forced a new show onto G4 Video Vixens where you had a host that talked about the hottest female game characters making odd comments about bouncing breasts and get this the host in real life was a homosexual. Nothing lasted long after the Comcast take over and the only thing left of Gphoria is the sad attempt to hold on by the host of the only show left on G4, xplay. Yep they are dressing up on the show today to talk about their top picks for less than a hour. Sad "
