"on the other side of the fence. I own a 360 and a PS3, and absolutely love them both. I had a Wii, but after Super Smash Bros. came out, I really didn't see any reason to keep it. I ended up selling my Wii through Craigslist and buying a PS3 the same day, and haven't regretted the decision one bit. On the 360 side of things, I picked up Resident Evil 5, Borderlands, Prototype, Halo 3: ODST, Modern Warfare 2, Dead Space, Halo Wars, and Beatles: Rock Band. For the PS3, Infamous, Killzone 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Uncharted 2, and Mirror's Edge. I don't think I would trade either of those lineups to play Wii Sports Resort, Metroid Prime Trilogy, New SMB Wii, and Punchout. Also, outside of the occasional Blu Ray rental for the PS3 and streaming music through my 360, I don't do much else other than playing games with my con"

"at U of I @ Urbana Champaign for computer engineering right now, but I have always wanted to get into the video game industry. I suppose it is a good thing that I'm planning on taking software engineering and user interface courses, huh? I'm in a Discrete Data Structures course right now where we implement the structures with C++, and I'm really loving it. Do you know what type of courses I would want to look into if I want to work on networking/online gameplay? Nice post"

"ormally don't comment on rather negative stories like this one, but I think this is one time where the silent majority of happy CO-OP viewers need to step up. The 1UP Show was phenomenal, no doubt. But CO-OP is every bit as good, just with a slightly different vibe. 1UP Show captured more of a "we're hanging out at work and talking about video games" vibe, and it was great. But CO-OP isn't quite aiming for that angle anymore, in my opinion. The Area5 guys seem (to me, at least) to be trying to go for a "good friends talking about good games" vibe, and, while still very similar to the 1UP Show, since most of the people who worked at 1UP were pretty good friends, it means to me that CO-OP SHOULD be a bit more relaxed with respect to language and communication. I'll take what CO-OP is any day over a show featuring a few guys sitting in a room, reading from a sc"

"as kind of worried about how my girlfriend would react to how important video games are to me too. This third or fourth time we had hung out together, she came over to my dorm room and we played a bunch of Wii Sports, and she actually ended up liking Skate a whole lot too. It really just depends on how open she is to gaming. If she isn't even remotely interested in it, then the relationship between the two of you probably won't work out (same thing if you don't/can't accept her biggest hobby). From my experience, if the relationship is meant to be, then it doesn't matter what your hobby is and how into it you are. If gaming really matters all that much to you, then you can't let a girl decide your interest level i"

"eel like you're being a bit harsh on Alan Wake, but I'm a huge sucker for almost all survival horror games. I feel optimistic that, with the way the combat in the game will work, the game will create really strong moments of tension and dread. I also don't see how it is generic at all. Or, at the very least, I don't see how it is any MORE generic than most games out"
