"I've now concluded that BioShock 2 is the most underappreciated game of this generation.  Rapture was inevitably going to be less awe-inspiring the second time around, but all things considered, 2K did a phenomenal job.  I liked the story.  I liked the characters.  And gameplay-wise, BioShock 2 was a VAST improvement over its predecessor in every possible way.

Also, we never would've gotten Minerva's Den, one of the all-time best pieces of DLC."

"Crap, forgot to get in on this.  There have been so many great soundtracks - especially so for this generation - but I can't see anything ever topping World of Goo for me.  No soundtrack has ever so perfectly matched the tone of the game as World of Goo's.  And it's probably the best Danny Elfman score that he never touched."

"I love that quote about his thoughts upon seeing the Prince of Persia credits.  It's fascinating what little things can inspire people.  Great story!"

"Having played the shit out of Borderlands and recently finishing Resistance 3, I do believe I agree.  R3's arsenal (which if I recall correctly is indeed eight total guns) were all well-designed and served a purpose, and I was constantly switching between them depending on the situation.  I now realize that as I was playing Borderlands, I pretty much stuck with the same set of weapons throughout the entire game, occasionally upgrading similar guns for a little more stopping power."

"This is great, Jasmine.  I always love hearing about people making momentous decisions towards improving their health.  Best of luck to you!"

"Great piece, Rus, couldn't agree more."

"I'd also like an elaboration on what "suffered" in the aforementioned titles.  Both BioShock 2 and Dead Space 2 were fantastic, highly polished single-player epxeriences.  The improvements made over their predecessors were numerous and necessary.

Say what you will about the lack of originality and wow-factor that inevitably accompanies a sequel, but I found the effort that 2K and Visceral put into crafting a stellar single-player experience a second time around quite laudable.

"That Breaking Benjamin song was in Halo 2 actually (as is Incubus).  The track when you're escaping The Silent Cartographer is "Gun Pointed at the Head of the Universe" from the Halo:CE soundtrack.

"Agreed about Morrowind, I don't think there's nothing to be ashamed about if you've played 50+ hours in a game like that and haven't finished the main quest.  And I'm in the same boat."

"I suppose it's both a blessing and a curse that deciding to buy the next Nintendo console has always been so easy for me: As long as the next Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, and Donkey Kong titles release exclusively on the Wii U, then I'll be picking one up."

"Glad to see Baccano! on your list.  Isaac and Miria are two of my favorite anime characters ever."

"Holy crap, two people to join my anti-Blade Runner club?  I thought I'd be alone 'til I died. :)

Nice to get to know you better, Jason.  I've enjoyed reading your comments over the past year."
