Deus Ex was an awesome game. It gave players options through open-ended design. It also allowed players to unleash their bad streak.

Radar screens? Menus? When it comes to thinking up uses for the Wii U controller, we can do better than that. Check out these five outside-the-box applications.

I played Red Dead Redemption for the PS3. I wrote up my thoughts in the form of a "Review." Sadly, a number is not attached to the game. So, you have to read the thing to find out my opinion.

For Sega to regain a foothold in the video game business, they must look back to what got them at the top. They must target the one who finished the race before them. They must show that they could surpass Nintendo.

In certain games, I can't help but feel sadness when I reach the end. I never want the ride to stop. I just want to keep going. Finishing a great game is akin to saying goodbye to a friend. This is my entry to the Fog of War challenge.

There are two games that have kicked my butt more times than I can count, Demon's Souls and Monster Hunter Tri. Which one do I prefer? The one that does less damage to my rear end.

After Ebert posted his commentary, I was sullen by the responses to his claim. People either wrote to ignore him or pleaded with him to try out some games. Since no one bothered to tackle his arguments directly, I thought I would attempt a rebuttal.

"Well, the best comedy is derived from the truth. So it should not be surprising to see less absurd versions of my ideas.

However, I would love to see Stalkerz with Wii Cameras in the future. That would be awesome."

"I can see Sega being at the top once more, but only if they want to work at it. After playing Yakuza 3 and Valkyria Chronicles, I can see they could still pull off making great games. They just have to tweak their art direction for a world wide audience. But before they begin their journey to the top, they really need to fix Sonic. REALLY REALLY need to fix Sonic. I can't stress that enough, heh."

"1) Ah! Thanks for that. I fixed the error. I called it Red Eye because of red tint that fills the screen when you activate it. That's kinda silly of me.

Edit - Actually the red tint appears when you pause the game. Sheesh, I'm giving misinformation today.

2) Those glitches take out the fun in the game. You are fortunate not to come across anything bad. I'll tell you, not being able to ride your horse is a terrible way to end a session of RDR.

3) That story design makes sense for GTA because you play as a grunt climbing the crime ladder. It's only natural to peform odd jobs for people. In RDR's case, there is no reason to do follow any of the NPC's orders. The main character can mow down an entire gang in free roam, but he needs help from a few eccentric NPC's to capture an antagonist? That made absolutely no sense to me. The developers should have made the story better.

Personally, I would have designed the story sequences around the main character weakening the antagonist's power. Then, set the objectives to reflect that. It's an easy fix."

"If the Supreme Court sides with California, I would be surprised. Actually, they have made some bone-headed decisions in the past, so I would not be totally surprised."

"It's interesting to see games having such benefits. I bet Roger Ebert can not boast that movies have actively helped people lose weight!"

"The hardcore and casual stuff is a diversion to help a gamer's esteem. People talk about difficulty, game play depth, accessibility, and what not. I think that's a bunch of nonsense. For people that use these terms, it boils down to this: acceptable games are hardcore and shunned games are casual."

Image #2 - "My Pac-man suit will devour everyone that made fun of me in high school!"

"Yakuza 3 did a good job incorporating quick time events. Some QTE's are woven into the combat to do perform more damage. Most of the button sequences are predictable so it's no big deal. The only bad QTE is part of the running mini game, but that's because you're punished if you're wrong or slow to press the button. The greatest use of QTE is part of the blog mini game. It's great because you get to see a salary man use a street light as a stripper pole. I think that trumps anything else."

""Ideally, if you want 99% of people out there to get into your piece, you want a 6.0 reading level."

Ok, that's good. I interpreted the grade score wrong, haha. I was feeling bummed because I wrote my way towards a degree and my writing churned out a 7th grade score. I had originally thought my writing level is at a 7th grade level, but it's in terms of readability."
