A senior at Virginia Commonwealth University majoring in psychology. My goal is to become a social psychologist researching the video game industry and its subculture. I also want to look at how minorities play a role in the industry.
My passions include video games, writing, art, and traveling. Best food ever is of Asian origin. And I can't stand the smell of chitterlings.

I've never held any interest in so-called "casual" games. But I've prided myself as being a core gamer for as long as I could remember. Read how I feel about Angry Birds here.

Kinect has been a hit. No doubt this is due to Microsoft spending truckloads of money to expose us to Kinect. But was it truly effective in doing so? Read to find out.

A review about the great (and somewhat controversial) Bayonetta and, of course, why it is my game of the year.

This article discusses how over the years Mario showed us how to reconnect with our pro-social selves. Don't act too surprised.

"Ninja Gaiden on Xbox and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 were well-done. I don't know how Ninja Gaiden 3 is going to turn out with Hayashi at the helm, but it sounds like a reboot is imminent. NG3 could go either way.
Politics is an intriguing realm and seem to find their way into some games lately. That's fine. Hate messages? Media Molecule needs to do something about that."

"@ Daniel I agree with you. The launch lineup isn't very impressive. I do like the idea of Nintendo trying to pace their game releases, however; the Gamecube and Wii had too many gulfs with no major game releases. I also plan to buy one, just waiting on a price and release date. "

"This is sad. The deviant minority brings shame to the decent majority. It makes the industry an even taller lightning rod for bad publicity. Also, it is distasteful and...simply wrong. "

"I don't think it is silly to lock up a game after a single playthrough. I do for the most part. Legend of Zelda games come to mind. I play the 40+ hour game, enjoy its majesty, and that's it. I can't bring myself to play through those games again. There's just something missing in subsequent playthroughs that makes it a drab affair."

"I intend to play games 30 years from now. But there's no denying that with age comes less time to partake in my favorite hobby. If it isn't school, then it's work, or errands, or some other important task requiring my immediate attention. There isn't much time for leisure after that. With that said, I have many fond memories playing video games and I would to have more in the future, even in my 50s. "

"Metroid: Other M truly was a love it or hate it affair. I leaned toward the latter; the moment you realize how often you have to switch from 2D to 3D, the fun plummets from then on. Other M would have been better as a 2D only title."
