"Fun article.  The audio log picture is very funny.  You know what else I hate is the damn sci-fi protagonist.  No face, cool armor (often upgradeable to look more badass), etc.  Halo, Crackdown, Dead Space, Crysis, etc.  Although I am looking forward to Dead Space 2.  Anyway, good article."

"Bought it too.  Pretty fun.  Like you said, 8-10 hours for 15 bucks aint bad, and if you loot and look around as much as me you can probably stretch it to like 14 hours. It is indeed very funny in that it is self-aware of the genre of game it is. I guess it is similar to 3d Dot Game Heroes or Matt Hazard: Blood, Bath, and Beyond in that respect.  Good game though, buy it if you like the downloadables."

"Length depends on the game type for me.  Final Fantasy, 40 hours please.  Prince of Persia, 8-10 is just fine.  And like Shawn said I think this is because I feel like in games like PoP or GTA they just add in levels that are the exact same as the last few to make the game longer, fluff.  That being said there are a couple games that just came out for lower than the $60 price tag.  3D Dot Game Heroes is 40 bucks; I assume its because it is probably relatively short and looks the way it does.  The upgrade Super Street Fighter 4 is only 40 bucks as it is just a rerelease with new content.  I cant think of any other examples now, but maybe if a few games had success with a lower price tag and a little less game, as the article suggests they might, more games would follow."

"It is especially frustrating when the game is actually fun all throughout and then you get to the final boss only to be let down.  Demon Souls comes to mind as a kinda recent one.  As tough as all the bosses were leading up to the end, some of them requiring multiple tries, the last demon literally didn't even fight back.  I wasn't even sure if it was supposed to be the end.  For shame"

"True, possibly a bit off topic, as they are not necessarily 'sequels' but he does talk about the business side of making games that could be deemed unnecessary, and I'd consider the guitar hero additions and sports games are an example of that business sense.  Especially as they don't really add any of those tweaks like Yoshi/Luigi or the Plasmid overhaul.  Update the graphics, update the roster, change the songs...same game though.  Although I haven't played many of the newest guitar heroes or sports games so I could definitely be wrong"

"First nuke?  Thats like catching the dragon in Heroin Hero.  Chase him all you want, it never seems to happen"

"Another concern might be that if the 'single idea' idea goes overboard,it could make the game short.  At 60 bucks a pop I want to play a while.  That being said, I don't think developers should just tack on more stuff to make the game longer; gotta start with a good idea and make a good game in the first place, ie Dead Space."

"Good point.  Although the story line would need to be considered as well.  I cant recall when Fallout 3 specifically supposed to be set, but if the game, whichever it is, is set in the distant future, I might be thrown off by seeing something as familiar as Coca-Cola or big brand names.  Although at the rate I buy Coke they will probably be in business for a while.  Definitely makes sense though."
