"I've played all kinds of board games and tabletop strategy games since I was a little kid. Space Hulk, WH 40k, Twilight Imperium, and pretty much all of them mentioned in this article. I have to say that in most cases I've been pretty disappointed in the digital version. Some are technically good, but they just lose something in translation. Digital convenience will never replace the feeling of gathering around a gaming table with a group of friends until all hours of the night. Digital versions of these games could be a good way to get people into the hobby though. I'm the first to admit that the learning curve is pretty steep with most of these types of games. I have several friends that started playing WH 40k after first being introduced to the universe through the Dawn of War games."

"an totally relate to this. I just turned 30 a few months ago and I've been playing games since I was about 5 or so. I have a job as a Systems Administrator where I work about 40-50 hours a week, go to school at night, teach martial classes a couple nights a week, and most importantly, have a wife and 5 year old son. It's not as simple as just "making time" as some people have said. When you get older your responsibilities change. I still love games and try to play when I can but something like a new FF game would seriously take me a year to beat. Mostly what I play now is pick-up and play stuff like Mario Kart that I can play with my"

"e been a huge Nintendo fan since I was a little kid but I've never been a Nintendo fan exclusively. I love good games in general no matter what system they're on but I have to admit nothing gets me more excited than a new Metroid or Zelda. Someone in an earlier post talked about they would buy more core games on Wii if the controls were better. I think this is the fault of lazy developers. Anyone who thinks core games cannot control well on Wii has never played Metroid Prime 3 or The Conduit. I think quality is quality no matter what system you're talking about. If there were more quality 3rd party games on Wii, people would definitely buy"

"n I watched the press conference live the first thing that came to mind was the Resident Evil example that he gives in the article. The more I thought about it I kept coming up with other ideas for this peripheral and I was thinking "wow, this could be really cool." Then I got online and read nothing but people complaining about what a useless peripheral this is. I think Nintendo is on the right track as long as developers can get creative and actually use this stuff to do something new. There are some really great ideas in this article. I also really like Brad Guise's idea for a lie detection game. I didn't even think of that one but that's a really good"

"Metroid games have always been my favorite. I love the 2D games but I'm always surprised when I hear fans of the Metroid series say they couldn't get into the Prime trilogy. To me Metroid is all about atmosphere and a sense of exploration. I really feel like they nailed that with the Prime games. Obviously there are going to be gameplay changes going from 2D to 3D but even with that the gameplay still feels like Metroid"
