"e played on XBL and have seen quite a few female gamers. I really do not see it as a novelty anymore. I mean, online, your avatar is rarely seen inside a game. The only way to know someone's gender is if they say something about it or have a "gRL" or something in their tag. I am female and if for some reason my gender comes up, the usual response is, "My bad, I thought you were a little kid." Haha. So I ignore it by default, since more often than hate I get more attention.
That being said, check out The Gamerchix community on xbox, they do gamenights and so on. And I'm sure there are others out there unaffiliated with an official site.
