"Why not? It's just video games, it's not like it'll start a war or something over it.

And if i do, I'll at least have access to vehicles and a medic :P "

"I'm not saying that an 8.0 is bad by any means, I'm just disappointed by how IGN justified docking points you know? As far as the score stands, any game should be damn proud of getting an 8.0, but I feel as though MK got slightly robbed out of something higher you kno? That's my personal feeling though, I understand that each othe points I gave is definitely debateable. "

"@Matthew - I did concede that how annoying the unskippable cutscenes were was up to the individual gamer. If you look at the score breakdown, my only gripe was that a 6.5/10 for unskippable cutscenes is a little harsh especially when the cutscenes aren't very long.

As for the character models, I dunno. Street Fighter, we have women whose thighs could squeeze a rhino to death and essentialy fight in their lingerie  (Chun Li and Cammy). I never understood how this equally tawdry art style doesn't get penalized when Mortal Kombat's does.

The boss fights is another point that I was making; every fighting game has those bone-crunchingly frustrating bosses. But you don't see Street Fighter or Blazblue being punished for those, so why should Mortal Kombat.

I'm not asking IGN to take it easy on Mortal Kombat; I'm asking them to show consistency.

Oh and another note, you managed to snap your TV remote in half?! I tried to do that from Devil May Cry 3's final boss and ended up looking like a giant wuss when I broke a fingernail . . . "

"I agree with both of you; yes Mortal Kombat's story is so corny that if you let it decompose, you'd have enough biofuel to power a Hummer. I'm just saying that at least there's a tangible objective you know? Street Fighter . . . there's something called Shadowloo. Go kill it.

Anyone besides me think that Shadowloo sounds like Satan's toilet?

I'm just trying to say that most of Mortal Kombat's "problems" aren't really problems; they are kinks that are present in the fighting genre and/or part of Mortal Kombat's style. I'm glad there's a couple more Mortal Kombat fans out there!"

"@Hoadley - You are absolutely right. In fact, my second favorite fighting game was Blazblue:Continuum Shift. The tutiorials in the BlazBlue games are spectacular in comparison to most other games, and I mean that sincerely. The level at which I can play Blazblue is far higher than my ability to play Marvel vs Capcom or Street Fighter simply because of how well they taught me the mechanics and combo system."

"@Albert - Thanks for that, it actually is a vital point of information.

Even Modern Warfare had that ONE Russian source that helped them. Eventually one of the scientists helps you in Black Ops.

But it almost seems to say that "Hey, there's at least ONE good guy right?". I think their intentions are correct in showing a Korean support character that assists the player, but I don't think it's effective. Also, my contention is more that the enemy is dehumanized more than Americans are overly emphasized you know?

Thank you though, it's good to know that they did try!"

"Solid points you have, I've had this sentiment for a while myself and never knew quite how to word it.

Also, thank you for your comments about Black Hawk Down on my article on war games. I'd hate to imporperly reference a movie that is only there to celebrate heroism in the line of fire :)"

"@Jason - thank you for enlightening me. I in fact, did not know about Bruckhemier's comments. I have no problem with the heroism of American soldiers. I respect anyone who is willing to die for what they believe in. I will definetly go back and watch it and catch that part you were talking about :)"
