Demian Linn
Co-Founder/Editor
When Gran Turismo came out, Demian decided it was time to stop writing about cars and start writing about games. After a four-year tour at EGM he (temporarily) hung up his writin' keyboard and moved over to 1UP.com's video department and the 1UP Show. Then he bought the Bitmob.com URL from the Russian mafia, and here we are.
Dan "Shoe" Hsu
Shoe used to cover the gaming biz for Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM), 1UP.com, X-Play, CNN Headline News, Gamers.com, and more...but then realized he could write his own paychecks by owning his own company. Too bad: 1) "His own company" is a poor start-up with zero budget, and 2) co-founder Demian controls the checkbook.
Jay Henningsen
Managing Editor
While not protecting the free world from Russian hackers and filling in for vacationing Norse deities, Jay spends most of his free time keeping the other staff members in line and lamenting over the continued degradation of the English language.
Rob Savillo
Senior Editor
An aspiring critic whose interests lie in dissecting design, rules, and mechanics; exploring the implications of copyright and ownership as they relate to the medium; breaking the stranglehold that the "male gaze" has over the hobby's creative output; and advocating the potential that games have to convey meaning to an audience beyond surface impressions.
James DeRosa
Editor
After postulating the Special Theory of Relativity and inventing video games, James led the Russians to victory in the Battle of Berlin and placed the Soviet flag atop the Reichstag. Upon returning to the States, he embarked on a series of sexual conquests that included Marilyn Monroe and Grace Kelly. He also coined the megapopular catchphrase "Shebadow!"
Layton Shumway
Editor
Layton has survived the rigors of journalism school, a dying newspaper industry, and E.T. on the Atari 2600 to find a home writing for Bitmob. When not neglecting his backlog, Layton spends his time reading, playing music, obsessing over the Utah Jazz and Real Salt Lake, and tweeting at http://www.twitter.com/theshums.
Eduardo Moutinho
Editor
Eduardo has toiled away for many years as a humble wordsmith, forging raw characters into legendary messages wielded by the most powerful brands in our world. His journey brings him to Bitmob where he looks to ply his craft in the realms of gaming.
Sam Barsanti
Editor
Sam studied creative writing in college, where he earned himself a reputation as someone who hates the things everyone else likes. While it may not have made him a fun classmate, it did make him totally hip. Also, he likes to write poems about Star Wars...so who knows what’s up with that.
Jason Lomberg
Editor
Jason is an editor for a well-respected electrical engineering trade magazine (Electronic Component News). Oh yeah...and he edits for Bitmob. Jason prefers story-driven games like Heavy Rain and Uncharted 2. Final Fantasy Tactics is to be spoken of in reverential tones around him. He also owns a Mortal Kombat 2 arcade cabinet (seen in numerous stories).
Omri Petitte
Writer
Omri's hunt for the roundest sunglasses possible halted after a wizened (or perhaps drunk) sage directed him to Bitmob. Now, he covers gaming news, previews, and reviews in an ever maddening spiral of darkened showrooms and backlit keyboards. He also boasts the lowest Gamerscore on staff, which is probably not something worth boasting about.
Rus McLaughlin
Writer
Feared and hated (but mostly hated) by 3/5ths of Earth's population, Rus has written for EA, Ubisoft, Square Enix, EGM, GamePro, and IGN, plus a few non-gaming companies such as Shutterfly. In his spare time, he enjoys being hunted like a circus creature by pitchfork-toting fans of his editorial columns.
Jeff Grubb
Writer
His name is Jeff....
Alejandro Quan-Madrid
Writer
Alejandro dreams of one day being a famous rapper who spits over fierce, video-game-inspired beats. In reality, he's considerably more proficient at writing about games, so sticking with BItmob is his safest bet. Alejandro has also contributed articles to EGM and 1UP.com and received 15 experience points of fame for each one.
Mike Minotti
Writer
Mike got his start on Bitmob by inserting poorly-drawn cartoons in all of his articles. He later begged until he got a position on the site as an intern and eventually as a Staff Writer. Steve Wiebe, famous Donkey Kong player, was once quoted as saying that Mike Minotti was his favorite video game.
Samir Torres
Writer/Designer
Having spent decades trying to convince his mom that playing video games would one day pay off monetarily, Samir can now say that mother knows best. Besides gaming, his other hobby is editing images in Photoshop. Bitmob has brought these two passions together for him with the added bonus of “working” at home...in his underwear.
Chris Hoadley
Chris is responsible for keeping spam and flame wars out of this Internet oasis from his outpost in sunny Florida. When he isn't deleting links to shady online retailers, Chris writes articles and co-hosts the Bitmob Writing Challenge. He also enjoys playing and obsessing over fighting games.
Alex R. Cronk-Young
Moderator
Alex really likes video games, but he never has time to actually play them anymore. Between his family, his multiple jobs, and his online duties, games don't fit in anymore. Except on the toilet. He plays a lot of games there.
Ryan A. Rubis
Front-End Developer
Ryan is the guy that gets yelled at whenever something on this site breaks. When he's not slaving away buried beneath tons of code, he spends his free time bathing in a tub full of Famiclones, unopened Amiga CD32s, and 100-Yen PC-FX dating simulators -- much like Scrooge McDuck. Except sadder.
