Game of the Year Awards... Yawn. Everyone does it, and they pretty much look the same, across the board. So when Giant Bomb came out with their list, they supplemented it with five days of audio podcasts... and a 4 hour session deliberating on their game of the year, I was totally on board.

Former Games for Windows Magazine editors Shawn Elliott and Sean Molloy made mention of the boilerplate method of constructing a game review, in which there is a particular prose construct ready for the insertion of the (often inconvenient) aspects of a chosen game.
