The first in a series of retro reviews: Psychonauts. Tim Schafer's brainchild is thrown under the microscope to see if it stands the test of time. Somewhat well informed author, THIEF, review(read:rants) for a few pages before suddenly reaching a conclusion. Enjoy!
Jaffe

David Jaffe hears voices. Don't worry; he's perfectly sane. His creative vision "speaks" to him...something about angry Greek albinos and anthropomorphic ice cream trucks.

I have an extreme distaste for hardcore geeks. So, what's the best way to confront such an aversion? Go to where they gather en masse. It turns out such a crowd isn't all that unbearable.

BrĂ¼tal Legend was a game that had high expectations but was not so well received initially. After the overwhelming disdain/disappointment of this game died down, I dove into the heavy metal world to see if was truly as bad as I had heard. Were the reviews accurate? Or were they too brutal? (Sorry for the bad pun)

Psychonauts has great writing, but as a game it's just a travesty. It's not a huge surprise that it didn't sell well.
