"God, this game has me worried already. =( So far, this game is riding on artistic novelty with it's shading style, with key words such as "button mashing" and "stealth sections" throwing up red flags. Please, Spider-Man, don't be derivative!"

"nmarzan:
Actually, yeah I'd have to say that Shenmue is definitely a precursor to the GTA. Where Rockstar focused on the bigger picture of an open world game, Shenmue definitely focused on the details. Unfortunately, I would say the details is what partially sunk the ship in terms of Shenmue's success. As engaging as the suzuki's game could be a times, the tedium of waiting around for things to happen or having to go to work in the docks turns the game into a chore than a fun little romp. Then again, I suppose it could be looked at as a growing pain of the then emerging"

"iff* Yeah, Shenmue was something else back in the day. I actually wrote this article for this past Valentine's Day, it seemed appropriate for the Dreamcast's anniversary too so I figured what the hell. I'm glad you guys enjoyed it, and I'm glad it's finally had a few pairs of eyes laid on it. It does this writer good for his stuff to finally be read by somebody. =) Thanks again for the kinds words gu"

"nce-I made the "slow start" remark judging by the number of comments that have been submitted to most of the articles. Is that a way to judge page count? Probably not. Do I know what I'm talking about in terms of page traffic? That would also be a no, but the website is still in alpha, so I am curious where it will go to in the future. "BITMOBBERS" may be a curious breed (and an easily marketable one in terms of advertising), but the integrity of the site depends on it's user base (which appears small) and that base's willingness to produce content. But I'll give Bitmob credit, they're doing something that I've never heard of before; giving users an legitimate voice. It's like the tagline should be "Bitmob: a soapbox for the ma"

"s is a strange predicament. I always considered 1up a place where personalities and editorials met, where readers and listeners latched onto certain people's perspectives or arguments and often times watched fireworks or debate ensue over who or what was right. With 1up pretty much imploding back in January, most of these personalities were scattered to the wind, some staying in San Fran, some leaving for LA, and some finding work at other networks.
I see BitMob as a strange chimera of what used to be EGM/1up. Actually, I'll take that back, I see Bitmob as an extension of the former EGM/1up, and in essence direct competition to 1up. It's like the war of the Roses or something, basically the same people, prying for the same audience, split between two factions.
Is it as dramatic as that? No, not at all. If anything, everybody is on good terms with each other and hopes the best for each "opposing" side, but I just find it strange that the personalities that worked along side each other for the last decade, are now split into two factions and working independently. Oh well, Bitmob seems to be off to a slow start, but I still see it as the successor to EGM.
Bitmob=EGM 2.0 ftw
Hmm, maybe I should write an article about"

"be fair to the developers, they know what they're getting into when they take on the license. They know that they're going to have a limited time to develop the game (HAVE to make box office deadline for max profits) and they know that they're going to have to prescribe to the 9-12 month development cycle TOPS.
I say this because film production and game development are two completely different animals. Propping a camera up and putting a star in front of the lens for a magic hour shot can take 20 minutes to film, where as creating that space and world in a video game can possibly take a week, depending.
So basically, developers know that they're getting into a possible shit storm when they take on time constrained licensed games. In most cases, it's just about getting that product out on the market for when the film hits. The games are propaganda for the film in most cases, unfortun"

"n RE5 throws a lot of enemies at you at one time, that frantic, panic stricken theme your talking about kicks in. I think if you want to confuse and frighten a player, you throw things at them that they understand conceptually, but you present the problem in such a manner that they don't know how to prioritize their best course of action. It's the equivalent of throwing seven easy math problems at a person and asking them to order them from highest priority to least, and then solve it in a matter of five seconds.
Something tells me that analogy make not make"
