"Why is storytelling so piss poor in gaming? Take a real good look at the industry, now compare the element of storytelling to anything else, be it books, movies or television. Video game storytelling is painfully immature. Games like Bioshock begin to approach a compelling story, but still fall short. Don't get me wrong I still like the game but that game was more about the environment and the experience. The actual story was secondary, not to mention not that compelling. The PREMISE of Bioshock was far more compelling than the execution of the story. I would much rather know about the world of Rapture and it's demise than the real-time, shoot-anything-that-moves story I was presented with. Why could there not be a game about a civilian in the final days of Rapture? -Anders-"

"It'll be 2 console generations [depending how long this one lasts] at least before anything as remotely complicated as this is included in gaming.A comparrison would be like getting realistic cloth physics out of the N64, sure it might be technically capable to it, but you would not think it was realistic. Sure if the screen was entirely dedicated to it it could, but not in an actual game environment. The soonest you'll see anything appear like this will be on PC. They might be able to pull it off sooner as they can continually upgrade. Regardless though, the future looks good for particle physics."

"You forgot " . . . . ." from every damned emo Square character when asked a direct question."

"Why would you assume the effect was done with projectors? It's an After Effects project. He just recorded his game run, and supered it onto the footage. You can tell he timed it out with tracking to match the timing of the pre-recorded game. There is an F'up around 2:30 when he enters the pipe where he's trying to cover up his tracking marks (most likely tape). Some places he's manually added animations where the video could not like the fireballs. He probably just added the game sprites in to match what the video was doing. Regardless it's all based on his pre-recorded speed run so of course it's fake."

"1) The laid back approach to topic discussion. Audio quality has improved . . . for the most part.

2) Least favorite would have to be the inconsistent hosting duties. Topic questions get lost easily throughout the interview. (bouncing from topic to topic.)

3) 1 hour is an ideal podcast length.

4) I do enjoy the variety of guests but it would be more interesting with familiar guests. Gives a chance for the listener to become attached to certain personalities. More frequent ex EGMers would be nice too.

5) 4 Topic format is good, just figure out a better/more consistent intro to make it clear. Lookin' at you Shoe. Should be like a corporate slogan that in ingrained in the listener's brain.

6) I would have a clear host (possibly female to break up the sausage-fest) and he/she pose the questions rather than the guests themselves. Like a radio host. However she would have to be able to go tête-à-tête with everyone on the show.

7) Doing alright . . . finally beat Ninja Gaiden NES last week. So much time lost . . . and for what? The years . . .  the years I lost, never to get them back. *sigh* So many friends lost, grown up and moved away. The world got crazier. Technology has progressed beyond my wildest dreams. Have you heard about this Virtual Boy thing? Sounds exciting! 3D! Can you imagine it!?"

"A bit of an obscure PC game series (but once was mighty!) can you see if you can find out anything about the future of the Tex Murphy series from Big Finish Games. . . . . if they are even at the event. They're the ones that recently released the simple puzzle game Three Cards to Midnight and a sequel."
