"Microsoft has attempted to bring all devices together for a while now. Xbox Live is key to integration."

"Greg Kasavin was one of the few video game journalists that took his job seriously. I'm glad to see he's having success in game development."

"Welcome to 2005, Nintendo.

It's too little, too late. Nintendo abandoned the "core" after SNES and never looked back. Every launch comes with a promise to support 3rd party developers. Every Nintendo generation abandons them."

"The original Prey was very good. 3D Realms took some major risks which didn't quite pay off. It's hard to sell Native Indian spirituality and the portals were more confusing than fun.

I really like the direction they've taken with the plot (ie, abandon the original plot completely.) It appears that they ditched everything except for the alien abduction. The trailer was awesome.

They say it's a "first person open world" game. Sounds like Borderlands with the exception of the parkour elements you mentioned."

"It's hard to pick from all the great games shown at E3, but Bioshock: Infinite is my favorite. All of the Bioshock games do things that are not only new, but unique. You could almost call it American Anime.

Japanese anime brought a whole new kind of entertainment of things never seen in American media. Cartoons for adults? Women that actually enjoy being housewives?

As much as I love Bioshock, I do wish the world of Rapture/Columbia wasn't so cynical. I appreciate the political and religious elements which add to the plot and setting. But, I'd like to see optimism win the day. I'd really like to know their political and religious opinions, outside of their games. In Bioshock 1, it was difficult to understand where Irrational stood on the politcal/religious spectrum.

Overall, I'm happy to see the changes Irrational made to Infinite. It's bright and the people don't look like zombies. Elizabeth is a great addition, too."

"No Splinter Cell? Sam gives this press conference an F minus."

"I gave up on Ninendo after the N64. They haven't changed. They're a toy company that makes the same games repeatedly. This report could have been written in 1995."

"Cool photos. The Skyrim ad is impressive. But, I wonder what the building looks like without the ad? Is it a big blank wall?"

"Uncharted looked pretty boring. It's the very definition of derivative action/adventure, with a touch of QTE and politcal correctness. They all shop at the GAP men's section. (Even the "girls".) The aiming accuracy didn't look too good, either.

I dropped my cable service years ago. I've been using Netflix and Zune videos to meet my needs. The one thing I miss the most from cable is Fox News. I hope the TV service includes it."

"Nintendo went against conventional wisdom with the Wii. I don't think it will work this time.

The novelty of the Wiimote fooled a bunch of people last gen. They all thought they could play tennis like Sharon Stone in Total Recall.

The WiiU controller looks like a monsterous universal remote that would scare all but the most geeky gadgetiers."

"There were some monents of AIs interacting in neat ways. I brought as many people as would follow me into my home and some of them would chat with each other. Sometimes an NPC would misbehave in a city and the guards would all freak out and attack him.

This has nothing to do with AI, but it is an example of unintended game design. The most fun I had in Oblivion was exploiting the duplication bug on Xbox 360. There was something mesmerizing about 100 objects pouring out of a single point. Amazingly, the 360 never crashed (although I always cleaned up the objects to avoid crashing). I filled a floor of a house with vases and it was like a kids ball pit."

"It's not about games. It's a part of being a guy. I've seen this with music and gadgets, too. You might compare it to alcoholism. All men are alcoholics in one way or another. My alcohol is playing video games.

A basic thing to do is be honest with your wife. But, the most important thing to do is to pray to God for help. That's how my Dad beat his alcohol, which was beer! :)"
