"This comment, I like. As someone who considers himself apart of the FGC, I want the scene to look at this game and like how it was made by people who get them. But the majority of them won't because they have the attitude as describe in your first reference.

My thoughts arose out of the FGC's acceptance and into the general sphere of argument for sexualization in video game, but I want to take it back down a notch. I hope the people playing Marvel, SFIV, and KOF take notice of how well thought out this game is and come to terms with how it's presented.

Thank you for sharing those references."

"That a good point Bryan. Your comment did make me think of something though. I didn't think anyone would cosplay Skullgirls, but of course, cosplayers will make costumes for anything. I agree with you that people in this modern world can usually discern between reality and fiction.

But what's your reaction when someone real dresses up as Cerebella or Parasoul at a convention. Certainly it's still an atmosphere of fun with fiction but what are your thoughts on that?"

"Mike's right. By the time you have the 4 meters and the context to do a combo like that, neither player will be in a position to seriously consider doing something as long and execution heavy as that. I think the writer is putting too much emphasis on the illusion that skill is execution and not realizing that skill is just the practical application of offense and defense.

I understand it was just an example. But a combo video shouldn't be your example. A better example would be a video of a tournament, where the people competing are playing at that level because they have years of experience and instinct of how to block what they've about to receive and how to do the same to his opponent but successfully. Like knowing when mashing out a reversal on wake up is a decent idea or just a dumb guess."

"But isn't Mortal Kombat an exception to the case for its quality? King of Fighters XIII, Street Fighter IV, Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, I honestly can't think of a fighting title besides Mortal Kombat that had strong, single-player features capable of standing on their own. I've grown to accept the idea that most devs can't make compelling single player options in fighting games, but thinking like that can be dangerous with devs simply not trying anymore."

"He's really fun to use in funsies player matches. I have a team for him which uses Sentinel's all around amazing stuff to cover for him when Wright isn't ready. He suffers against Marvel's all-offense-all-the-time mindset but Turnabout mode is definitely a hilarious problem: do I deal with his invincible assist or do I snap in someone ridiculously powerful?"

"I've always liked Zangief. Despite his portrayal in early SFII, he's always had a goofy demeanor in the end, plus, he gives you the satisfaction of pile driving your opponents!

I mean, in SFII's ending, he danced with President Gorby. In SFIV, he showed some kids how truly awesome at wrestling he was."

"It's actually safe more or less. The spoilers are for hardcore, story fans, but to be general about what I talk about, we talk about the metaphor the tower represents (which should be fairly obvious by six days in) and analyze the characters of Kat, Cat, and Vincent. So nothing important or specific to the integrity of the mystery is actually mentioned."

"How perfect is that. They release one of their trademark fighting game updates and they snuff out every chance Mega Man had this year?

I can't tell what's going on in their heads."

"It's not like I don't see where the modder is coming from. You just wanna play, so you join a server. Then a few minutes later, you realize you're losing hard because you have a Medic who insists on running into the frontlines with his needlegun and a Scout with the personality of a suicidal hamster.

But I definitely don't approve of the mod. One side of me may be grateful but on a more philisophical application, it's not fair.

Of course, the game IS F2P afterall, so it won't cost the freebies anything to simply find a different server that has a more accepting nature. Plus buying the cheapest item available from the in-game store labels their account as premium and allows  them to bypass the mod.

I guess in the end I'm ok with the mod. Servers cost money to run so the admin are free to do what they want with their servers. The mod take into acccount the worst kind of newbie though and it's a shame it believes every F2P'er is like that."

"Not worry! The focus of the articles are on mechanics and battles. So there won't be any story related spoilers or even catching related spoilers.

It'll be quite the logistical nightmare considering the options present in a largely unexplored subject."
