How can developers find that perfect balance of simplicity in games without also taking away from the experience?

"I think it's hard to completely judge a game on based on a trailer, but I do agree that the premise seems to follow the usual route when it comes to post-apocalyptic games. The problem I think is that it's hard to make a game enjoyable if it's something like "The Road". Developers still haven't figured out how to make compelling games gameplay wise where the player doesn't shoot or kill enemies every 5-15 minutes. Heavy Rain tried to tackle this problem and arguably succeeded in some areas while it failed in others.

What does give me some hope about the game bringing something new to the table is the fact that we see the man in the trailer savagely kill another normal human being. Hopefully the game will portray a much darker side where mutants and other survivors potentially are an equally large threat to the player.

"One of the best articles I've read in a while and I completely agree with you. Piracy is a problem - legally and ethicly, used games are not."

"I like the show but the audio is horrible, definitely something to improve for future episodes. "

"I've never been interested in purchasing PSN+. I barely used it during the 30 day trial period and all of the content offered was mediocre or bad. The only thing that I found remotely interesting was the full game trial section, but even that amounts to basically being extended demos.

Just like the rest of you, I'd consider purchasing PSN+ if they offered good content and if they actually informed people what would be made available ahead of time. As it is now it actually might discourage PSN+ subscribers from buying content, for the fear that it might later be offered for free or for a reduced price. "

"Interesting article! I'm not sold on the Wii U concept and I fail to see a big audience for it. Another aspect that worries me is the first party support. This will be Nintendo's first HD console and their internal studios have no experience working on HD games. The transition from SD games to HD games is huge, especially if you look at the initial games released for the current HD platforms. So the big question for me is if Nintendo can deliver good looking games without an exaggerated amount of bloom, "shine" or motion blur. "

"Great interview! Looks like I'll have to use a crack when Diablo III comes out in order to bypass constant internet connection. Which is a shame since players shouldn't be forced to use hacks intended for pirating games. Although it do see where they're coming from with this decision I'd much rather see them implement an offline mode where created characters are separate from the online mode."

"The Flood in the Halo games is what makes it at pain for me to play a Halo game all the way to the end. As soon as I encounter the Flood i get bored and switch over multiplayer orto another gam"

"Interesting! Looks like I'll have to write a couple of articles during my upcoming vacation."

"15$/month is an insane proposition. This means that between the releases of CoD games you will pay around 180$ which is an insane amount of money on a service that revolves around stat-tracking, even if you get all the maps packs for free as a part of that service. My bet is 5$/month. What they want is to make it seem as if the money you pay for a service are worth it, so say they have 3 map packs for MW3, that means that you're "only" paying 15$ extra yearly which is less intimidating then your proposal, 135$ extra yearly."
