Right before certain companies created their own media formats like Sony with Blu-Ray. Do you think Nintendo or Microsoft want to pay royaly fees to their direct competitor to use the media/decoding software? I don't think you'll see any next gen hardware from either company running on Blu-Ray media technology. And to reverse the secenario, do you see Sony ditching their Blu-Ray cash cow to start using some generic format?"
I used to enjoy Farmville, Cafe World and Frontierville but the tedium eventually got to me. The above poster is right though and I already use the same tactic and suggest it as well.
Create a bogus facebook account and share with any friends who play the games you play. Or go to the facebook page for each game and make friend requests there. Most people will friend you because of how much the game rewards you for having more "neighbors"."
@John Madden
I totally agree with you about the pitfalls of non-linear RPGs. Morrowind, Fallout 3 and and any of the MMOs I have tried out there (WOW, Guildwars, DDO) didn't hold my interest at all. I'd readily sacrifice freedom (the ability to choose my actions in bite size little bland morsels) for scripted story entertainment. I want to feel like I'm part of an evolving, deep story with some drama and impact to the world."
I see your point. I would contest the Blaster Master entry as well. That's as strong a franchise as Bionic Commando in comparison which is not really at all. Didn't BM2 come out for the genesis anyway?"
I would consider it a NES franchise more so than PC. I can't imagine the PC version selling anywhere near as many copies as the console version."
Zelda would be a worthy replacement instead of Blaster Master. It may not have a sequel in 2010 but it had it's origins on the NES and is a huge franchise.
The core of this article is strong franchises from the NES days. Blaster Master fails vs. Zelda"
Look whippersnapper! You're probably too young to have played the first two games but let me tell you they were damn good for their time. I loved the original Metal Gear games. They definitely were originals (as compared to the rest of the NES library)."
