"istian, I know the feeling, but some of the people you mentioned and the people you are arguing with got ahead because they treat writing as a craft and they work very hard to create original content. I know Groen and Rougeau, and they bust their humps every day as WRITERS, so of course your statements are bound to ruffle feathers.
As for this inner-circle business, of course editors are going to hire people they know. It's not a conspiracy. It simply makes more sense to hire someone that you know is capable and whom you trust. As for encouragement, ever wonder if you're just asking the wrong people?
