A Glutten of Cake Tale

As most of the Playstation owners care to say that Fat Princess is out for the PS3.  With the imprints of battle ever forged into my mind one will start to wonder what the hell.  Since I am at work no pictures will be in this article, but will put some up after work.  So this is where my tale begins.

On a small canyon deep inside the heart of the on-line jungle I created the playing field for 14 people.  Not wanting to many people I tried to keep it small and fun.  Hearing a voice call out to me for cake I followed her command.  She was being held captve by us, but the urge to feed her was even more over whelming.  So I started to feed her full of cake untill I saw this blue solider with the name BITMOB-Lance riding up the side of the castle.

Lance swiftly stopped me in my tracks while I was feeding his princess full of cake.  Our battle raged on as he hacked my wood chopper to pieces.  One I was beaten a swarm of red bots came to my aid and defeated Lance due to his lack of strenght to carry a rather large women.  Yes I made sure she was large and very much in charge of asking for mor cake.  Our war went on till our guys brought back the princess.  As the time ran down it went far enough we got the victory of the might Lance.

Are crusades did not stop just at the canyon as we teamed up later this night with a few of my friends.  Finally being on the same team we started to see more people start joining in the fun of carrying a rather large women to her thrown.  There was a sense of fun and learning controls this night as not much strategy went into play.  When strategy was in play the other team was the ones doing this strategy on us.

With many more nights still to be had I had to let my brothers in  arms go.  I said thank you to Titan Studios & Sony silently while powering off for a great game that I hav save my points for.  I am still glad I bough this over Battlefield 1943, but my tales will go on over time because I will remember the last words of the final game I played as I will end with those said words here.  "I got the little pecker"

I am enjoying Fat Princess so far as well, however it does not like my rural Canadian internet connection. I'll have to wait to get back to university before I can play reliably online.

My one concern is that Fat Princess REQUIRES good teamwork to do almost anything significant in that game. People on PSN aren't too chatty or do not have a mic at all so I hope that as the game become more popular, more people will invest in a bluetooth to really enjoy Fat Princess.

@David I know Lance & I along with some of my other friends were talking away last night. Maybe cause we banter so good ont he forums it just felt right to do it in the game as well.

Also this would be a good community game to play it we could get enough people for private slots of course.

FAT PRINCESS STRATEGY 101:

I appears that the easiest way to regain health is to just stop, and sit down and eat some cake. However, if you are near a control tower, simply enter the tower, then jump off it, and then enter again. Each time you do this you will get One Full Heart back, and you do not have to leave yourself defenseless.
Lance Darnell , July 31, 2009
Also, the bots are not complete morons, but they will run right by you, so everyone: kill the real people first.

And as far as the Mic goes for people on PSN, some guy last night said it best "If you can afford a $500 PS3, you should be able to afford a $15 mic"
Lance Darnell , July 31, 2009
I paid 39.99 for my Sony Mic as it came with Endwar. Yeah , but if you were like me hiding behind cover were people don't notice you can sit for awhile to gain health. Thanks for the awesome games last night. Wish I didn't have to get off early to go to work.

Oh yeah and we will run the bitmob team next week when i am on of course.

@Toby - What you missed after you left was the CRAPPY SERVER SYSTEM!!!! It took me 12 minutes to get in a game, and when I tried hosting one myself, I was limited to 10 players due to my bandwidth! So after a few tries, I started playing the single player....
Lance Darnell , July 31, 2009
@Lance we will get in a better room when next time we play together. Great times and easy to communicate as long as everyone works together of course. I wish I had real maps to do strategy with so that way plotting an attack could happen.
Toby Davis , July 31, 2009
@Toby - When you press select it brings up a map of the whole, er, map. It shows every person in the game and where they are and where they are going!!! BTW playing defense is a great way to rack up points, you get 50 points for bringing the Princess back to prison!

If I find an online map I will link to it
Lance Darnell , July 31, 2009
@Lance - I mean like an actual piece of paper size map not in game Map. this way if teams use them they can make different strats on what to do and how they want to proceed to win. Like naming out points and everyone who knows that name will know where to meet up and go to.
Toby Davis , July 31, 2009
If I find an online map I will link to it

I figured out what you meant half way through my reply...
Lance Darnell , July 31, 2009
So what do you think of it so far? How was story mode? Did you have to find the princess in a nother castle?
Toby Davis , July 31, 2009
@Lance

I find defense is usally better with games that have like 16 vs 16 since its rare to find 16 people organized enough that offense is worth going into. I like the worker to boost the houses then just archer for defense. I also like stuffing the girl with enough cake to keep her girth up
David Matos , July 31, 2009
I think David likes a girl with lots of girth
Toby Davis , July 31, 2009
@David - I could not agree more. I have yet to see an organized offense that did anything without luck being involved. However, when I finished playing last night, I was in a match with 32 players, and only 5 bots.

And thank sweet Allah that there are no spies....
Lance Darnell , July 31, 2009
Lance - Playing a little to much Civ Rev have we with all that spy talk? Now the match we lost even though you were the top on our list might have been because of that one guy who drained all of our energy and was the lead on there team with more points.
Toby Davis , July 31, 2009
@Lance

Big girls need love too!
David Matos , July 31, 2009
@Toby - I was referring to the spies from TF2, not Civilization. Imagine having to think that every teammate may stab you in the back!? It is stressful!
Lance Darnell , July 31, 2009
@Lance I knew what you meant I was just hoping I was wrong If my wife lets me play tonight Lets Bitmob it up
Toby Davis , July 31, 2009
I'll join you next week - Bitmob-Demian
Demian Linn , August 01, 2009
I am looking forward to it Demian, and I will be on later tonight Toby, like 11est

And I have come across a very interesting strategy. When bring the enemies' princess back to her prison after the other team have failed to get her back, instead of bringing her to the prison, drop her in a blindspot on the map. Even if the other team can see her on the map, it will take them longer to figure out what blind spot she is in.

Also, if you are playing without any of the Bitmob group and are by yourself, there are two strategies to use:
1. Stay by the Princess, play defense, upgrade your machines, feed the Princess, cut down any enemies coming in.
2. This is my favorite. Find a Outpost somewhere on the map and go and take it, and then use the overview map to see when the attackers are coming, and use the Outpost as a defense to wipe them out. Unless I am facing more than three people, this strategy works.

At the end of a match the leading scorer of the winning team gets turned into the Grim Reaper, and the leading scorer of the losing team turns into a Giant Chicken... Beautiful

Lastly, when the game starts DO NOT forget to build the Castle doors. Nothing ends the game quicker.

Lance Darnell , August 01, 2009
Cool. Got any other tips, like what class to upgrade first (I lean towards workers and archers)? What's your favorite class?
Demian Linn , August 01, 2009
I had fun playing with you earlier, Lance (I was the only other person who talked regularly). We should get the whole group to play together tonight.

I always lean toward upgrading the Ranger (archers) first. I play as a worker regularly and I don't think the bomb helps too much really. Then again, my favorite class is the Ranger.
James Croan , August 01, 2009
@Demian - I would say workers or warriors. Workers cause they get bombs as there upgrade or warriors for the long bow. Archers get a gun, but Unless you play defense/range then I would upgrade the archer in time.
Toby Davis , August 01, 2009
@Demian

Definitely Workers. Each machine takes about 3 pieces of ore to upgrade, so the first goal should always be getting one or two of them upgraded. I like the Ranger, but as soon as Warriors learn to block, I will be killed. Until then, a circle-strafing Ranger is hard to beat one on one.

@James - If you are on later, I suggest we stick to small groups of three or four. A Priest, a Warrior, a two Rangers. Oh, and the bombs are awesome for holding choke points.

@Toby - Is that why out Ranger machine never got upgraded??? hehe

And here are ways I have seen people get the 6 kills in a second:

Grab the big bomb, take the catapult into the other base, activate it, and run!

Magicians.... A good Magician can wipe out armies with their area attack.
Lance Darnell , August 01, 2009
a=and

out=our

Me no type English good
Lance Darnell , August 01, 2009
@Lance I upgraded every thing before i leave the castle. That is why I get wood and mineral
Toby Davis , August 01, 2009
@Toby - Yeah, I was kidding with you. You are an awesome Worker!! Holding the Outposts near the minerals is important too!
Lance Darnell , August 01, 2009
So you just didn't update your hat
Toby Davis , August 01, 2009
It took me an hour to realize I could press Triangle to switch weapons!
Lance Darnell , August 01, 2009
You didn't hear me that when we first won on the blue team last night?
Toby Davis , August 01, 2009
Lance want to colabirate on a Fat Princess Guide for Bitmobbers?
Toby Davis , August 01, 2009
Definitely, give me the weekend to play, and next week for sure!
Lance Darnell , August 01, 2009
give me monday and tuesday as we can start on wed
Toby Davis , August 01, 2009
Hey Toby, send me your email in a DM on Twitter
Lance Darnell , August 01, 2009
Fat Princess tonight anyone?
Toby Davis , August 03, 2009
I'll be on at some point. Seems like online matchmaking is still a mess.
Demian Linn , August 03, 2009
@Demian if you jump into a friends game then you have a better shot at getting in a match. That is why I always create my games.
Toby Davis , August 03, 2009
I plan to be online for Fat Princess tonight. ColManischewitz is my PSN tag. I enjoyed online MP when I hosted my game, but it took time for people to fill it.
Jason Wilson , August 03, 2009
Jason hit me up with a PSN FR to Bitmob-Toby
Toby Davis , August 03, 2009
I'd be up to play some tonight.
