Alive4Ever iPhone App Review

Do you like zombies? Do you like shooting zombies? Do you like contrived and almost generic video games about killing zombies? Well in that case, Alive4Ever is for you.

With an ingeniously unique name, Alive4Ever achieves my dream; a slick top-down shooter in the vein of SAS Zombie Assault 2, that plays smoothly on the go. In Alive4Ever, players will find some conspicuously Japanese-centric, questionably male characters to play as. Not only does Alive4Ever feature the novel, poorly translated text that is so beloved by retro gamers of today, but confusing and oftentimes misleading instructions as to how one should go about playing each particular mission.

But aside from the convoluted way the game attempts to explain both the scenarios your character faces, as well as your objectives, as any modern, pretentious internet-based video game review may point out, the core gameplay is still intact.
While Alive4Ever (I nearly just typed Alive4Dead... originality guys! Come on!) does not seem to add much variety to the mix such as tight corridors, or a large assortment of distinct weapons to choose from, taking down zombies and leveling up, with four skills you can upgrade, "Maximum HP, Maximum Bullets, Critical Hit Rate, and Curing Efficiency", is still entertaining for the low price of $1.
Considering the multiplayer that imaginably would yield some degree of four-player-madness or any other marketable buzzword, if anything, that alone might be something that would make this game intruging for anyone out there. Just keep in mind, the multiplayer is only local, not online, which is a shame.

If you're still not convinced, and Alive4Ever costs more than $1 at this point on the App Store, I strongly encourage you to at least try SAS Zombie Assault 2. You're more than likely to find some enjoyment firing an RPG at a zombie. I mean, come on, who wouldn't?

The first pic looks like a picture of a Fulci zombie hit with a filter.

I am just waiting for the day that people stop pretending to be vampires and start pretending to be Zombies! I would be so in on that!

Alive4Dead sounds creepier than Alive4Ever
