An apology.

Hey guys,

I just wanted to take a second an apologize to any of the Bitmobbers who I may have offended lately.

I have had a lot of stuff going on. I found out my wife is pregnant. My podcast and website were really floundering in popularity despite me staying up till 3 am most nights to post stories and prepare for the show. My job at Gamestop really seemed to be going no where despite being a top Assistant Manager for over two years and I had serious doubts that I wanted to work there and be a father since that jobs requires you to work many nights and most weekends.

In all is has been a very soul searching time, and I lashed out a few times in some comments when I was really just ill about something else and needing something to lash out at.

The good news is that things are all working out.

I am giving my two week notice at Gamestop tomorrow and going back to school to be a teacher. I ended my podcast and website which gives me time to pursue writing stories I want to write and not ones that I feel like I need to write (this means that if you see something I post on Bitmob then it was written for Bitmob alone.).

I especially want to apologize to Shoe, whom really deserves thanks for creating such a cool site rather than harassment for simply trying to make his site all about the community and not a million other sites.

I know most of you probably don't care about this post and it is really only directed at a few key people, but I did want to get it out there to make my karma cleansing complete.

I think getting the fuck out of Gamestop will make talking about games as much fun as it used to be and not the drag it was starting to become.

Thanks for reading, and here's to the future!

Frank

I am sorry to hear about the job, but congrats on the upcoming baby! There is never a good time to have a child, so I can definitely understand the stress that would put you under.
As far as I know, you are only referring comments you made on one post, and other than that I have not noticed anything bad from you at all! And I for one am glad you are setting up shop at Bitmob!

Oh, and for the record, I ONLY post comments when I am stressed and angry.

Been there, done that. No worries.

Congratulations on the upcoming addition to your family! Kids rule!

Well, there was the developer commentary on being professional that I wish I had put in calmer terms than I did. I feel like I had good points, but feel like I went a bit far in pushing those points.

I apologized on the thread you are talking about, but felt this post was warranted.

I am really super happy about the baby, but some changes had to be made in my life to make it a good situation for a baby, and I had some hard decisions to make that were stressing me out.

I know for most people the idea of leaving Gamestop seems like and easy one, but I love my job. Not the company, the job. I love helping people find games and love being surrounded by games all day. More than anything I help people new to games learn about them. It is such a good feeling when people come back and tell you that they loved a game you helped them find, and especially when they come search for you over other employees and follow when you change stores.

In a way I feel like I am letting my regular customers down.

It is an experience I will miss, but is a needed change.

Thanks for the positive comments guys!

If you think retail was rewarding, just wait until you become a teacher...

Good luck with your future endeavors, dude. We're gonna need more great teachers for all these kids Bitmobbers keep having!
