Beatles Xbox 360 Sells for $17,300

That limited-edition Beatles: Rock Band Xbox 360 we told you about earlier this week? It sold on eBay for $17,300! Good thing this was all for charity, because the buyer could've saved himself a lot of dough if he had simply bought a refurb from GameStop.

(Hope this thing doesn't red ring....)

Microsoft plans on auctioning off 49 more of these units to benefit Doctors Without Borders.

That's great. Doctors without Borders is a great organization, and I hope future auctions raise a similar amount of money.

Hint, hint: I'd love to see a PC Rig with that look! So you could't play Beatles: Rock Band on it, but I could play Beatles music all damn day.

If there was only one of those, you will be seeing collector featurettes in sites and magazines 10 years from now listing that thing at like 100,000 dollars.

Whoops. Didn't read the last line. Nevertheless, they'll still be worth a shit ton.

Not a Beatles fan, but I am a fan of charitable causes, so great on them!

Also, I just noticed there is a very prominent red ring on the front. With fire and everything.

Interesting.

Makes me wish I would have pre-ordered a bunch...

I don't know that I'd trust myself with an xbox that's worth more than my car...

Good cause, nice write off...you just have to hope that 1) it doesnt melt. 2) it isn't a new system in an old case ( thus unplayable...cables dont fit), like the fable custom. 3) when it does melt, getting it back from support in good condition, if at all.
But it will probably just end up a $17,000 dust trap paperweight.
