Editor's note: Jeffrey Grubb has started up a new weekly group activity that is sure to keep you busy: inter-community high score battles. This is your chance to nab boasting rights and lord them over your fellow Bitmobbers. -James
It is time, Bitmob "friends." Time for what, you ask? Time that we stop feigning kindness and community spirit. Time that we give in to our basest desires and drive each other into the ground....
I'm talking about competitive gaming. But I don't mean that lame head-to-head FPS stuff you see from Major League Gaming. I'm talking about leaderboard chasing: playing for the highest score, just like the real game warriors used to do back in the '80s.
Which brings us to The Bitmob High Score Challenge!
What it is: Each week the community will pick a different game. The most likely places to find games for the competition are Kongregate, Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and Facebook. These platforms all provide excellent score tracking.
This week's game: Dolphin Olympics 2
Hit the jump for more details.
When it's happening: All throughout this week -- starting Sunday, February 7 and ending Saturday, February 13.
Where it's happening: Kongregate.com
What you'll win: What's the prize if you get the high score? Bragging rights, nothing more -- just like the arcade warriors of days gone by.
How to join in: If you haven't, you should sign up for a Kongregate account (it's free) and send me a friend request. Otherwise, it will be difficult to verify your score. My handle is NeoJobe.
Once you have signed up, go ahead and put your name and handle in the comments below so we can all send friend requests to one another. Everyone can start competing immediately.
Trash talking is welcome -- encouraged even -- but please remember to keep things friendly.
Finally, I have a handful of games in mind for the upcoming weeks, but if you'd like to make a suggestion, please include it the comment with your Kongregate handle.
Good luck!

@Brian Totally, we will do that in a few weeks if we can find a good version of it that everyone has access to. Is Frogger on XBLA?
Also, I picked one of your articles for Pixel Revolt. Be sure to check it out.
