9/9/99 will always be remembered as the day Sega launched its final console. While the Dreamcast had a short run, the forward-thinking design of its hardware still impacts the way we play games today.
During this all-Dreamcast episode, Bitmobbers Dan Hsu, Michael Donahoe, and Aaron Thomas are joined by former Sega marketing guru Heather Hawkins to remember the Dreamcast on its 10th anniversary. The gang relive the system's 9/9/99 launch, ponder the strategy of releasing maracas, VMUs, and fishing controllers, discuss their top Dreamcast games, and talk about their favorite Sega system.
If you'd like to talk with Heather about working for your company or were involved with the Dreamcast launch and would like to attend Heather's industry-only Dreamcast 10-Year Reunion Party, contact her at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. I put in the game yesterday and checked out some of my old characters. What a trip down memory lane that was.
Mmmmm.. memories..
PS i knew Shoe was going to say Soul Calibur cuz i remember reading in EGM about the rivalries and tournaments and how Crispin was cheap or something and also Kraig Kujawa always knocked people out of the ring....something like that, my memory is hazy lol.
RIP Dreamcast and RIP (kinda) EGM!!!
